Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in merchandise planning, merchandise finance, FP&A, or related financial roles
  • Experience managing sales, margin, and inventory plans in a retail or consumer goods environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large, complex datasets
  • Ability to clearly communicate financial insights to cross-functional partners and leadership
  • Retail or consumer goods industry experience
  • Experience partnering closely with Merchandising or Category Management teams
  • Prior experience coaching or mentoring junior team members

Responsibilities

  • Lead seasonal, annual, and long-range financial planning for assigned categories, including sales, margin, inventory, and turn
  • Translate merchandise and assortment strategies into financial plans, identifying risks and opportunities
  • Serve as a primary Finance partner to Merchandising, providing analysis and scenario modeling to support key business decisions
  • Own ongoing forecasting and performance management, including variance analysis and reforecasts
  • Identify trends in sales, margin, and inventory performance and recommend actions to address gaps or opportunities
  • Communicate changes in merchant strategy or performance that impact the P&L, cash flow, or inventory
  • Partner closely with Planning & Allocation to ensure alignment between financial plans and inventory flow
  • Support the development and coaching of junior planners
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of planning processes and tools
