About The Position

Boston Scientific is hiring a Senior Medical Director, Watchman who will play a pivotal role in influencing the advancement of Watchman therapies across the globe. Your expertise will guide our clinical strategy, working closely with our research and development team and key opinion leaders to help ensure Watchman remains innovative, safe, and effective for an increasing number of patients needing left atrial appendage closure.

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD/DO or equivalent) required
  • Minimum clinical experience of 10 years as a physician.
  • Holds a valid and unrestricted medical license
  • Board certified in cardiology with clinical experience in either interventional cardiology or clinical cardiac electrophysiology
  • Fundamental understanding of clinical trial design, medical device regulatory pathway, and the competitive landscape of the Watchman therapy.
  • Adept at presenting and discussing clinical data with peers/clinical community
  • Able to speak credibly with KOLs and cardiologists to gain feedback about the performance of a medical device
  • Travel requirements up to 30%

Responsibilities

  • Scientific Guidance and Collaboration: Provide medical and scientific guidance to internal and external stakeholders, including clinical trials teams, functional units, study investigators, and regulatory agencies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with medical objectives for the Watchman team
  • Operational Support and Oversight: Participate in clinical trial planning, protocol development, and investigator selection.
  • Train internal and external personnel on medical aspects related to trial conduct.
  • Therapeutic Area Expertise: Leverage your medical expertise throughout the device life cycle and Serve as a medical advisor for regulatory matters.
  • Participate in the evaluation of adjacent business development opportunities.
  • Innovation and Technology Integration: Contribute to the application of new technologies in solving complex medical challenges.
  • Provide clinical due diligence for new product development and business initiatives.
  • Clinical and Scientific Communication: Write and edit clinical and scientific reports, and review and approve educational materials
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency in clinical trial protocols.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key thought leaders in the medical community preferably interventional cardiology
  • Participate in local, national, and international medical conferences.
