Job Summary: CMTA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to be a leader in their office in The Woodlands, TX. This position will provide mechanical services that meet and exceed a client’s expectations. They will provide expert advice, make key decisions, and develop highly complex elements regarding mechanical design and project development. In this role, you will also lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing technical direction, support, and leadership to drive both team and business success. This position is responsible to grow and develop the mechanical department and continue to build successful client relations This role is well‑suited for an engineering leader who enjoys tackling complex, unfamiliar challenges and developing thoughtful, creative solutions. You’ll use independent judgment and strong analytical skills to interpret technical guidelines, coordinate interconnected work across teams, and guide projects that involve multiple functional areas. Your decisions will have a meaningful impact across the department and broader organization as you help set objectives and shape execution within established company goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
  • P.E. Licensed Mechanical Engineer.
  • 10+ years of working industry experience.
  • Proven ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and organization.
  • Established industry and market expert.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and be a strong decision maker.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products.
  • Proven ability to maintain excellent integrity and ethical standards within role.
  • Ability to work outside normal business hours as project schedules and deadlines require.

Responsibilities

  • Positively motivate and review work performed by team of mechanical engineers.
  • Professionally work with clients to identify goals.
  • Correctly complete billing and budgeting for a project.
  • Coordinate services between mechanical engineer team, clients, and other contractors.
  • Provide descriptive solutions to mechanical design difficulties.
  • Manage a team of engineers and designers; conduct periodic reviews and foster a collaborative atmosphere.
  • Facilitate weekly team meetings and effectively delegate workload to team members.
  • Frequent professional interaction with clients to discover and implement expectations.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
