About The Position

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and deployment of custom industrial automation projects as they relate to mechanical engineering. You will be responsible for ensuring these systems meet all technical specifications, adhere to industry standards, and satisfy customer requirements. This role requires close collaboration with engineering teams, vendors, and customers to deliver high-quality, production-ready solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Proficiency with engineering design programs such as AutoCAD, and Fusion 360.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license that is in good standing.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Experience in primary and secondary packaging mechanisms and design architecture, including system integration and optimization.
  • Strong knowledge of regulated environments, such as clean rooms and compliance standards within pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Expert verbal and written communication skills to convey and present technical information effectively.
  • Expert 2D and 3D modeling capabilities (Fusion 360 and AutoCAD expertise is preferred).
  • Expert problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Expert in anticipating potential issues and resolving complex problems across projects.
  • Expert ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks and estimate task duration.
  • Expert flexibility in responding to changing project requirements.
  • Expert ability to maintain accuracy in work.
  • Strong level of risk management and mitigation strategies.
  • Expertise in selecting tolerances, materials, and finishes.
  • Knowledge of 3D printers and design guidelines for different manufacturing methods.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, development and technical support of automation solutions adhering to Catalyx, and industry standards.
  • Plan and execute mechanical designs utilizing 2D and 3D CAD programs, and rapid prototyping.
  • Serve as a primary technical point of contact for mechanical system design, providing guidance in risk evaluation and technical matters.
  • Approve technical specifications, drawings, bills of material, and project documents.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other engineers with best practices and standards in mind.
  • Support the sales team in the creation of quotes and proposals with solution conceptual designs and costings.
  • Collaborate with the project management organization and the client to ensure project success.
  • Analyze existing procedures, suggest improvements, and support the creation of design and technical documentation.
  • Act as an escalation point for mechanical related issues during the build, installation, and warranty phases of projects.
  • Provide oversight for equipment assessment, ordering, and verification, ensuring that final hardware meets customer needs.
  • Meet with vendors to confirm solution requirements and component selection.
  • Stay up to date on the latest technologies and standards around our industry, including attending and supporting industry conferences and networking events.
