As a senior engineer you will be responsible for designing exterior components and systems that achieve the optimal balance of vehicle performance, safety, reliability, profitability and manufacturing requirements. At this level, you will take ownership and more of a leadership role when it comes to designing a complex part, overseeing testing activities, and / or leading a minor model change project for your department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
  • 2+ years relevant experience in design
  • CATIA or other 3D CAD software, self-motivated, organized, multitasker, effective verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

  • Create 3D layouts/data and 2D drawings using CATIA.
  • Correlate and negotiate with internal Honda contacts including other design departs, test departs, factories and purchasing.
  • Lead part design with suppliers. Setting design targets and confirming prospect to achieve requirements.
  • Collaborate with styling teams to set feasible directions and fix final designs.
  • Support and part and vehicle verification, developing countermeasures when necessary.
  • Estimate and manage part cost, including review of supplier quotes.
  • Lead a small team of associates/contractors as a project leader
