Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of five years in mechanical estimating within the construction sector.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity preferred with Bluebeam, OST, Quotesoft, Trimble, Richardson’s and MS Office Suite.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and mathematical capabilities.
  • Technical Understanding: In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems and the ability to read technical drawings.
  • Organization: Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical skills to tackle project challenges.
  • Team Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
  • Communication: Capable of clear and effective communication with all project stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications: P.E., LEED, ASPE, or AACEI.

Responsibilities

  • Cost Estimation: Analyze project plans and specifications to develop detailed cost estimates.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineers and project managers to outline project scope.
  • Technical Review: Review and interpret technical drawings and schematics to ensure accuracy.
  • Estimation Software: Utilize specialized estimation software for preparing cost assessments.
  • Material Evaluation: Assess and choose materials and equipment suitable for projects.
  • Bid Proposals: Prepare and submit proposals for mechanical work.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct risk evaluations and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Project Monitoring: Track project progress to ensure adherence to estimated costs.
  • Implementation Support: Assist during project execution to maintain cost accuracy.
