The Senior Mechanic conducts daily inspections of the property's mechanical plant, monitors and controls temperature, and logs readings from meters and gauges. Key responsibilities include maintaining daily logs of operations, maintenance, and safety activities, and inspecting boiler equipment, computer terminals, and switches. The position also requires assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical systems and components. Additionally, the Senior Mechanic assists management with various employee-related tasks such as hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating staff, serving as a role model. The role demands adherence to company and safety policies, maintaining professional appearance, confidentiality, and positive working relationships with colleagues and guests, ensuring quality standards are met. The position also requires physical capabilities such as grasping, turning, manipulating objects, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, moving up and down stairs and ladders, navigating confined or elevated spaces, standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, and lifting objects up to 50 pounds.
