About The Position

Maryland Environmental Service (MES) has multiple openings for a Senior Mechanic to a Lead Mechanic to join the Technical and Environmental Services Group at the BWI Marshall Airport field office. Responsibilities include performing installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment used for a variety of projects at BWI and Martin State Airports as well as other MES operated facilities throughout the state. This field office is a designated 24/7 emergency essential facility. Therefore, the ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and during adverse weather conditions will be required.

Requirements

• high school diploma or possession of a GED equivalency certificate
• Senior Mechanic position requires five (5) years of experience. Formal training from an accredited vocational school with a major in a related field of study may be substituted for experience for up to three (3) years of the required work experience.
• Lead Mechanic position requires seven (7) years of experience. Formal training from an accredited vocational school with a major in a related field of study may be substituted for experience for up to three (3) years of the required work experience.
• Applicants must be able to obtain a Homeland Security Clearance and must be able to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical.
• Must have a valid driver's license with less than 5 points.
• The position will require the ability to perform confined space entry and lift 50 pounds.
• Any offer of employment will be contingent upon successfully completing required pre-employment screens, to include full background check, drug & alcohol screening, and position appropriate physical.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
