About The Position

As part of the supplier engineering function, the Sr. Materials Project Manager serves as the central facilitator between Global Sourcing, Manufacturing Operations, and other key divisions to drive supply chain optimization. This individual contributor role acts as a liaison between suppliers and cross-functional teams to plan and execute new product development projects and drive material value improvement program (VIP) opportunities for sourced components. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any engineering or science-related discipline with at least 3 years of engineering experience
  • Project management experience with ability to create process flows and execute deliverables

Responsibilities

  • Leading material VIP projects including ideation, priority setting, and monitoring performance to schedule, technical, and cost targets
  • Partnering with material VIP project owners to coordinate activities required and complete material VIP projects; remove barriers and escalate issues to drive progress
  • Planning and executing material cost reduction projects (MVIP) to achieve plant, division and category goals; assess the financial impact for new business opportunities and value add engineering projects
  • Serving as the subject matter expert and providing input and data to Influence internal and supplier component design and manufacturing processes
  • Collaborating with cross functional teams (PMO, R&D, PD, ME, Commercial, SQE and Purchasing) to plan and execute NPD projects and Material VIPs
  • Delegating project tasks and mitigating potential risks; establish cadence and provide key stakeholders with updates on project performance, schedule, and cost
  • Identifying continuous improvement opportunities to drive efficiency for material VIP and Product Life Cycle Process (PLCP)
