Collins Aerospace is looking for a Senior Materials Planning and SIOP professional to support our aftermarket seating division within our Interiors Business. In this role you will participate in the supply and demand planning process, and responsible for making minor changes in systems and processes to solve problems and improve effectiveness of work area. May work with internal team to develop financial forecasts. What you will do: Own the top-level assemblies that can have many/multiple sub level work orders and manage the expediting process for priority orders to meet customer request date. This includes working cross functionally and globally to find the shortest path to meet the customer need. Plan and manage sub-level item completion at various lead times ahead of top-level assemblies. Working with BOMs that include purchased, IC, and manufactured parts, as well as free stock items and items with shelf life. Plan work orders for a great variety of operations (assembly, bonding, riveting, building seats, kitting). Action MRP messages that require investigation into several levels of subcomponents. Analyze and prioritize sub-components that have demand in more than one top level SKU. Plan for legacy programs that require troubleshooting due to missing/inactive sourcing information. Mitigates risks for short term shortages with internal suppliers to ensure successful customer delivery. Plans and prepares manufacturing production schedules based on capacity and priority, assesses changes and improves processes as necessary. Work with manufacturing team and participate in the development of monthly production volume planning using the business forecast, inventory position, actual customer orders, and the defined capacity parameters. Tracks status of material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, and materials are available as needed. Monitors the transportation and delivery of incoming component parts and outbound finished products. Tracks and manages inter/intra-plant work in process (WIP), promise dating, expedite orders to ensure on-time delivery and flow. Participate in developing strategies for materials planning and SIOP. May participate in the development of standardized processes within materials planning and SIOP in order to optimize the utilization of business resources and meet customer expectations for delivery. Support in planning capacity and fulfillment demand with plant manufacturing operations. Responsible for tracking appropriate metrics to drive results and continuous improvement.
