Hi, we’re Big Human. We’re a full-service creative agency. We work with the world’s most interesting brands to bring their vision to life through technology, design, branding and marketing. Since 2010, we’ve produced 262 websites, 80 applications and 50 brands for 247 satisfied clients (Rockefeller Center, Gemini, Quinn and Netflix, to name just a few). And we’ve still found time for our own passion projects on the side (like HQ Trivia and Vine). As we continue expanding our marketing practice, we’re hiring a Marketing Strategist to play a central role in how we deliver strategy and campaigns. This is an AI-forward role for a growth strategist who owns outcomes, prioritizes ruthlessly, and keeps momentum week to week. The role sits at the intersection of strategy, execution, and client leadership. You’ll translate business goals into clear marketing plans and own them from kickoff through delivery. This is a high-autonomy role for someone who can think strategically, move work forward independently, and drive measurable impact. AI should be a natural part of your marketing stack, helping you explore ideas, iterate quickly, and increase output across strategy and execution. This is not a coordinator or execution-only role. You’ll be expected to make trade-offs, focus on what moves the needle, and deliver real value for clients. It is ideal for someone who has worked in agency environments or early-stage startups and is comfortable operating across many marketing disciplines. About the Role We’re looking for a sharp, AI-forward marketing generalist who can translate client goals into clear strategies and drive those strategies forward across channels. At Big Human, we operate as a strategic growth partner to our clients, not an execution layer brought in for extra bandwidth. This means Marketing Strategists are responsible for identifying what will actually move the needle and focusing efforts there. You’ll be expected to prioritize what matters most, make clear trade-offs, and guide clients toward the highest-impact work. Our goal is not to do more marketing. It’s to do the right marketing. You’ll work across a wide range of initiatives, including platform strategy, campaigns, SEO and AI-driven search, GTM, and performance optimization. You will often be the primary owner of a client’s marketing workstream, responsible for: Designing the strategy Managing execution Coordinating with collaborators Leading client communication Tracking performance and iteration This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution. You’ll be expected to think at a high level while also ensuring work moves forward week to week. It’s fast-paced, high-ownership, rewarding work. You’ll help shape how companies grow, make decisions that have real impact, and see your ideas turn into measurable results. The right candidate is a strategic thinker and strong operator: someone who enjoys turning ideas into plans and plans into outcomes.

Requirements

  • NYC or Tri-State based (remote with occasional in-person opportunities)
  • 5–8+ years experience in marketing strategy, growth marketing, or campaign leadership
  • Agency experience or startup GTM experience strongly preferred
  • Experience managing multi-channel campaigns
  • You think in terms of outcomes, not just deliverables
  • You focus on what actually moves the needle
  • You are comfortable making trade-offs and saying no when something won’t drive impact
  • You are not satisfied with shipping work — you care about whether it worked
  • You approach decisions with data and performance in mind

Responsibilities

  • Translate client goals (growth, revenue, engagement) into clear marketing strategies and execution plans
  • Use AI tools to rapidly explore strategic directions, validate ideas, and pressure-test plans before execution
  • Synthesize large amounts of information quickly (client inputs, research, performance data) into clear strategic direction
  • Take the first strategic pass when a project starts from scratch
  • Make clear trade-offs about what not to do, based on impact vs effort
  • Ensure every initiative ladders back to defined goals and success metrics
  • Define clear goals and success metrics for each client & initiative
  • Focus efforts on what will drive measurable impact, not just output
  • Continuously evaluate what’s working, what’s not, and where to double down
  • Reprioritize work based on performance, new insights, or changing client needs
  • Know when to say “no” or “not now” to protect focus and momentum
  • Maintain consistent forward momentum across initiatives, ensuring work doesn’t stall or drift
  • Break down strategy into weekly actions that drive measurable progress
  • Own marketing initiatives end-to-end from kickoff through delivery
  • Use AI to accelerate planning, drafting, and iteration across campaigns without sacrificing quality
  • Build systems and create content for social media and creative campaigns
  • Prepare weekly decks and campaign updates for clients
  • Identify risks early and resolve them with a clear plan
  • Brief designers, producers, freelancers and partner agencies clearly and effectively
  • Provide clearer, faster briefs by leveraging structured thinking and AI-assisted iteration
  • Set expectations for deliverables, timelines and success criteria alongside our Marketing Manager
  • Ensure marketing assets meet both strategic and creative goals
  • Maintain strong communication across teams
  • Track marketing performance across channels
  • Translate analytics and performance data into insights and recommendations
  • Use AI to identify patterns in performance data and generate faster hypotheses for testing
  • Translate insights into clear next steps without relying on manual analysis alone
  • Ensure campaigns evolve based on learnings and performance
  • Lead day-to-day client communication for assigned projects
  • Present marketing plans, campaign updates and performance insights
  • Translate complex work into clear summaries and recommendations
  • Communicate priorities, tradeoffs and risks clearly
  • Improve internal workflows for strategy, execution and reporting
  • Turn lessons learned into documented processes or templates
  • Help strengthen how Big Human delivers marketing work at scale
