About The Position

The Senior Marketing Manager is responsible for leading creative and cost-effective marketing campaigns across titles, as well as developing and implementing digital marketing strategies for the Quirk Books brand, in order to create an engaged audience of readers that drives word of mouth and an affinity for Quirk’s publishing program.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of marketing experience in trade publishing.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Google Analytics, Mailchimp, Meltwater, Meta Business Suite, Microsoft Office, and WordPress.
  • Ability to set priorities and handle multiple detailed tasks efficiently, and to track and follow up on projects.
  • A creative and strategic thinker.
  • Proactive, flexible, and adaptive in a rapidly changing environment
  • Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Works with the VP and Associate Publisher to set consumer-facing marketing strategies for frontlist titles based on sales expectations.
  • Leads ​consumer-facing marketing ​campaigns for Quirk​ Books titles,​ including messaging, partnership ​collaborations,​ influencer campaigns, digital advertising, ​preorder ​campaigns, and other buzz-building strategies that drive sales.
  • Directs the growth and engagement of ​Q​uirk's social media ​audiences​ and newsletter subscribers—shaping platform strategy, producing content in collaboration with ​creative services,​ and other audience-building initiatives.
  • Leverages key sales and calendar moments to drive discoverability of Quirk's backlist and to build brand affinity, including but not limited to holiday gift giving; Summerween; Quirk or Treat at Halloween, etc.
  • Oversees QuirkBooks.com,​ the digital home for the brand, including content development​ that drives discoverability of frontlist and backlist titles.
  • Uses sales data and campaign results to optimize frontlist and backlist marketing campaigns.
  • Guides ​digital brand strategy through actionable insights from social media and website data​.
  • Manages relationships with authors, agents, and key freelancers to ensure successful partnerships.
  • Communicates strategy, progress, and performance insights to leadership and external stakeholders including authors and agents​.
  • Manages Quirk’s marketing ​budget, setting spend strategy across individual titles and the imprint overall, ​with an eye towards cost-effective and creative campaigns.
