About The Position

Are you a detail-driven problem solver who thrives on turning complex
requirements into clear, competitive solutions? Jered, a PAR Systems company, is
seeking a Senior Manufacturing Estimator to play a pivotal role in shaping the
competitiveness of our bids for custom-manufactured products. In this role,
you’ll take ownership of the estimating process from the first customer request
through final proposal — ensuring every bid is accurate, strategic, and
compelling.

Success Criteria:

In this position, you’ll dive into customer specifications, past projects, and
engineering drawings to develop precise system-level Bills of Materials (BOMs)
and realistic labor and material estimates. Alongside proposal managers,
engineers, and procurement specialists, you’ll evaluate manufacturing
approaches, challenge assumptions, and bring creative alternatives to the table.
Your insights will guide make-versus-buy decisions, sourcing strategies, and
design optimizations that improve competitiveness without sacrificing quality.

The ideal estimator anticipates risks, resolves ambiguities in bid packages, and
communicates solutions clearly to both leadership and customers. You’ll refine
processes by incorporating lessons learned, maintain and grow cost databases,
and use your understanding of fabrication and Mil Spec welding to bring accuracy
and credibility to every proposal. Ultimately, your work will directly influence
Jered’s ability to win projects and build lasting customer trust.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline
• 5+ years of estimating experience in a manufacturing environment (marine or other similar equipment is a plus)
• Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook and Project
• Strong communication skills – written and verbal
• Strong mechanical and mathematical aptitude
• Highly organized with effective time management skills
