About The Position

ERG is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead and oversee complex manufacturing operations within our energetic materials production environment. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of explosives safety regulations, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record in process improvement and quality control. This position will be at a federal site in Indian Head, MD, and will include interaction and support from ERG personnel at the federal site, as well as from ERG’s Fairfax and Arlington offices. Indian Head is approximately 30 miles from Washington, DC. Job Description: Lead initiatives to enhance process efficiency, improve safety compliance, and maintain top-tier quality control across all manufacturing operations Provide expert guidance on the maintenance and operation of energetic manufacturing equipment, ensuring reliability and compliance with industry standards Develop, implement, and monitor quality assurance/control procedures specific to the energetics manufacturing industry Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, safety, and production teams to optimize manufacturing processes and resolve complex technical challenges Apply advanced knowledge of SMART manufacturing technologies and data acquisition systems to improve production outcomes Serve as a subject matter expert on safety, regulatory compliance, and best practices in energetic materials production

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or related field)
  • 15+ years of experience in energetics manufacturing
  • Extensive knowledge and application of NAVSEA OP-5 or equivalent ammunition and explosives safety standards
  • Strong background in quality assurance/control methodologies specific to energetics manufacturing
  • Familiarity with SMART manufacturing systems and modern data acquisition technologies
  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance
  • Must be a U.S. citizen as this position is not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations
