As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer at our Medtronic Energy and Component Center (MECC), you’ll play a critical role in designing, optimizing, and implementing manufacturing processes that drive the production of innovative medical device components. This position combines technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance in all aspects of manufacturing operations. In this role, you will be part of the dedicated, experienced, and high-performing team supporting Feedthrough Manufacturing at MECC in Brooklyn Center, MN. You will lead efforts to develop and refine manufacturing processes, layouts, and production strategies, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and Medtronic’s high-quality standards. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, providing technical guidance to engineering teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives across MECC. We’re working a minimum of 5 days a week onsite as part of our commitment to fostering a culture of professional growth and cross-functional collaboration as we work together to engineer the extraordinary. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling. Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout. Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques. Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
