About The Position

The Senior Manager, Youth and Young Adult Initiatives will work with AFSP’s Programs team, including the Senior Director of Youth and Young Adult Initiatives, as well as the Jake Collective and other external partners, to be responsible for developing and revising resources and trainings to support clinicians and youth-serving adults to save lives and bring hope to those impacted by suicide. Critical to this role is working with the Jake Collective and national partners to identify training opportunities and to deliver new, high-quality training programs to support youth and young adults, especially those who think, feel, and learn differently.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; graduate degree in program planning, public health, social work or a related field, preferred.
• 5+ years relevant professional experience (e.g., program management, program planning and development, association, community-based work).
• Expert level of proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and SharePoint with experience presenting to partners and / or Senior Leadership.
• Ability to engage in multiple training platforms, leveraging technology and flexibility to meet diverse needs.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, diplomacy, critical thinking, verbal/written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Proven ability to work in a collaborative environment and work across multiple areas to contribute to the mission. Proven ability to demonstrate a drive for results and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage outreach and training for clinicians and youth-serving adults who support youth and young adults who think, feel, and learn differently.
• Plan, organize, and facilitate virtual and in-person meetings among key partners and stakeholders.
• Draft, write, and disseminate reports that convey critical information to funders, partners, and those who support youth and young adults.
• Build and maintain partnerships between AFSP and potential trainers to reach youth-serving adults and organizations.
• Work with the team to support partnerships with external organizations that focus on reaching youth and young adults who think, feel, and learn differently, developing goals and strategies for program partnership, development, and implementation.
• In collaboration with the team, participate in the development of effective, clear, and easy to understand messages, ensure that messaging is research-based and evidence- informed and applicable to youth-serving organizations and adults.
• Partner with the Impact Measurement team to develop evaluation criteria to evaluate programs and other initiatives and seek opportunities to respond to findings.
• Provide ongoing content review and updates, including collaborating with communications on developing promotional materials for a variety of media outlets, following AFSP requirements and guidelines.
