About The Position

Walmart Connect is seeking a Senior Manager to lead our Yield Monetization Analytics team focused on assessing and optimizing our revenue and inventory utilization across all Walmart ad platforms. This individual will lead the team responsible for evaluating our monetization performance (historical Ad Spend, eCPMs, Sell Through Rates, etc.), monitoring auction health (auction floor impacts, clearing prices, bid density, and bid optimization changes), and understanding inventory and monetization trends to provide context and recommendations to drive future strategy. This leader will partner with our Yield Strategy team to ensure we’re using in-depth analytics and historical modeling to provide strong, actionable recommendations to leadership, Sales, and other cross-functional teams. Requirements

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science. Engineering, Computational Biology, or related discipline).
  • 4+ years of quantitative or data science working experience.
  • Deep understanding of retail media, programmatic advertising, and digital ad inventory management, with fluency in the language of digital media and online measurement: impressions, CTR, CPMs, STR, Fill rates, unique users, page views, visits, viewability, demo comps, etc.
  • Working knowledge of CRM and AdTech systems required, and experience with Ad Network/Ad Exchange/DSP/SSP preferred.
  • Familiarity with marketing principles, advertising metrics, inventory forecasting and the concepts and technology associated with digital advertising.
  • Strong business communication skills, both written and verbal; with ability to communicate / present to Sales teams, also ability to express complex technical topics clearly & easily.
  • Proficiency in common machine learning techniques and forecasting models especially time series forecasting and has strong understanding of probability and statistical models.
  • Proficient in data science programming languages (Python or R), and experience with SQL and relational databases (for example Hive, Big Query) and business intelligence platforms (Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data visualization skills.
  • Familiarity with auction theory, dynamic pricing, and advanced statistical modeling.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of online advertising industry working experience preferred with an understanding of advertising KPIs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data scientists specializing in yield, revenue, and inventory analytics.
  • Oversee the analysis of revenue metrics (Ad Spend, eCPMs, sell-through rate, budget burn rate) and programmatic performance (bid density, clearing rates, auction floors).
  • Evaluate pricing and bundling performance, including sales volume, pricing strategy successes, and value-added incentives.
  • Develop and implement frameworks to monitor and optimize ad inventory utilization and monetization.
  • Identify and communicate trends, successes, and areas for improvement in historical ad inventory performance.
  • Advance our yield management capabilities with accurate and granular forecasts to further guide pricing, packaging, sales strategy, operational planning and optimizing our advertising yield
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Sales, Product, Engineering) to evaluate product performance and help inform larger strategies and maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership, influencing business decisions and strategic direction.
  • Stay current on industry best practices, market trends, and emerging technologies in retail media and programmatic advertising.
  • Build productive and positive relationships across the organization at all levels to drive Yield Strategy & Management’s reputation and influence.
