POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking a highly motivated and hands on Senior Tax Manage to join our Tax team. The Senior Tax Manager will report to the Global Tax Director and will be part of the Stoneridge Finance organization. This team is responsible for all corporate tax related items including international locations. This position involves significant interaction with external auditors and consultants, finance staff, and process owners in other functions. Our ideal candidate will have relevant corporate tax experience, an analytical mind, and strong technical and communication skills. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Requirements

BA/BS in Accounting, graduate tax/accounting degree, CPA required.
8+ years of tax experience in a public accounting firm and/or multinational publicly listed company (including 3+ years of international tax).
Strong in accounting and taxation; possess deep understanding of ASC 740 principles.
Demonstrated tax technical skills with emphasis on tax issues related to tax planning, indirect taxes, international tax, and transfer pricing.
Excellent tax research and written/verbal communication skills.
Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, able to research, explain and apply complex tax matters.

Responsibilities

Prepare the Company's monthly, quarterly and annual global income tax provision calculations including financial statement disclosures, domestic and foreign provisions, US tax impact of foreign operations (Sub F, GILTI, FDII, BEAT), deferred taxes, journal entries, tax accounts and uncertain tax positions.
Lead the tax compliance process including management of outside consultants and review of the U.S. federal and state income and franchise tax returns, extensions, and estimated payments, R&D credit study analysis and ensure timely and accurate submission.
Manage the preparation and review of indirect compliance, including Form 1099 reporting, sales and use, gross receipts and property tax filings.
Assist with the management of the global transfer pricing strategy and ensure compliance with US and international requirements, including documentation, intercompany agreements, Country by Country Reporting and coordination and review of annual transfer pricing documentation.
Assist with the analysis of federal, state and local and international tax planning efforts, including identification of issues, proper structuring and implementation of effective and efficient tax strategies.
Build cross-functional relationships across the business (Accounting, FP&A, Legal, HR, Local Controllers).
Lead and manage relationships and work closely with external service providers and consultants.
Assist with answering ad hoc questions from the business regarding tax.
Prepare tax forecasts with multiple scenarios to aid planning and decision making.
Train, mentor and develop members of the Tax Department and encourage a collaborative team environment and contribute to the technical training of staff.
Manage direct and indirect tax audits including preparation of responses to data requests and notices received.
Lead efforts to incorporate new technologies/automation into the existing tax process.
Manage testing and documentation of internal controls under Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and updating tax processes and controls, as needed.
Monitor and analyze tax regulatory and compliance developments, accounting pronouncements, tax law changes, and analyze/document impact to the Company.
