About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Talent Management to join our Firm. This position will be based in our New York office (hybrid). This person will be reporting to the Director, Talent Management. The Senior Manager, Talent Management supports the development, execution and administration of Skadden’s Career Center, and supports Talent Management Department projects. The Career Center provides resources and guidance for attorneys and business professionals dedicated to achieving their long-term career development goals, and the Senior Manager will support with daily Career Center operations, including job opportunities database, career coaching resources, a toolkit to assist with career exploration, internal and external communications, learning and development support, and any other projects assigned by the Director, Talent Management. Supports Director, Talent Management with Career Center strategy, including initial design and execution of Career’s Center’s offerings and resources (outlined below) and establishing a roadmap, launch and phased rollout of the Career Center Assists the administration of Career Center’s daily operations, including but not limited to: Implementation and regular maintenance of jobs database; Oversight of career coaching, inclusive of internal, external and AI coaching; Drafting and maintaining toolkit of career exploration resources such as job search strategy and resources on resumes, cover letters, personal statements and mock interviews; Management of skills, workstyle, personality and well-being assessment offerings; Developing relationships with search firms, recruiters and clients; Fielding inquiries from employees and directing them to relevant resources; and Supporting relevant career development programming and initiatives for employees and alumni Collaborates with other internal teams, including People Development, People Strategy, People Operations, Marketing, Business Development, Partners, and Department Chiefs and Directors to assess talent needs and implement relevant programming and offerings through Career Center Aids the sourcing of technology to support the Career Center, including job database and use of AI to support job search and career coaching that complement the Firm’s existing technology Supports internal communications campaign to launch the Career Center and promote an understanding of the Career Center’s offerings across the Firm’s People Departments, attorneys and business services professionals and alumni Manages and maintains the Career Center’s internal website to direct employees to offerings Supports external-facing communications about the Career Center to share with clients, alumni, recruits, etc. Performs peer firm and industry best practices research on similar career development offices on an ongoing basis to identify areas of enhancement for Skadden’s Career Center Manages process for attorney secondment and externship assignments Collaborates with Talent Management team on Skadden Experience initiatives and programming related to talent development, such as Midlevel Associate Leadership Academy, leadership development programming and client/alumni programming Supports other Talent Management and Skadden Experience projects as assigned Analyzes talent and employee data to identify trends and suggest ways to support internal recruitment, retention and/or promotion goals Supervises junior department members in day-to-day assignments. Engages in strategic (i.e., long-range) planning by developing departmental goals and supporting objectives for assigned areas of responsibility. Coordinates and oversees department projects, day-to-day operations and long-range plans.

  • Bachelor’s Degree; JD or Master’s preferred
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of law firm or professional/career services experience preferred
