About The Position

Reporting to the Vice President, Human Capital (VP), the Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition & Human Capital Programs plays a critical role in advancing UWNYC’s talent strategy by ensuring operational excellence across the employee lifecycle and building sustainable workforce programs that support meaningful community impact across New York City. This role partners closely with hiring managers and senior leadership to drive efficient, equitable, and strategically aligned talent acquisition practices while advancing excellence in workforce planning, early career programming, and HC operational effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, degrees with concentrations of human resources, management, psychology or similar programs a plus.
  • Five or years’ experience with Talent Acquisition, legal requirements, systems and procedures.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, strong team player.
  • Computer proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Power Point, ADP, Monday.com (preferred).
  • Demonstrated systems enhancement skills.
  • Knowledge of requirements under federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
  • Excellent customer service to internal customers and external third parties.
  • Ability to work with staff, Board members, external partners, and the general public.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to proactively identify and problem solve – then implement solutions.
  • Learn new software programs as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment across assigned departments, ensuring timely and superior hiring outcomes.
  • Partner with hiring managers to scope roles, develop recruitment strategies, and guide structured, equitable selection processes.
  • Conduct Intake meetings with hiring managers
  • Maintain on-going EVP talent acquisition tracking and reporting.
  • Propose and implement enhancements to talent acquisition processes, tools, and workflows to improve efficiency and candidate experience. Conduct resume screenings and virtual interviews, coordinate interview panels and selection logistics.
  • Coordinate with the team to propose and execute salary offers.
  • Administer and optimize LinkedIn Recruiter and ADP Talent Acquisition systems.
  • Partner with hiring department on sourcing strategies.
  • Lead revisions and updates to all active position descriptions to ensure alignment with organizational strategy and evolving operational needs.
  • Review and propose updates to current salary structures
  • Review background checks and ensure completion of all pre-employment documentation.
  • Coordinate temporary staffing support and workforce coverage needs as appropriate.
  • Back-up for Human Capital orientation, including benefits overview and policy review.
  • Strengthen onboarding processes to support engagement, compliance, and early success – partners in the revisions of HC products.
  • Maintain workforce data integrity and support reporting and analytics to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Support workforce planning initiatives and organizational design efforts as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Serve as the primary Human Capital liaison for fellowship and internship programs, including university partnerships and external pipeline relationships.
  • Lead recruitment, selection, and onboarding for Fellows and Interns, aligning placements with departmental priorities and UWNYC’s broader talent strategy.
  • Partner with department leaders to scope meaningful, project-based assignments that advance organizational priorities while supporting professional development.
  • Oversee program timelines, supervisor guidance, and structured evaluation processes to ensure a consistent and high-quality learning experience.
  • Develop and refine program materials, onboarding guides, learning objectives, and feedback tools.
  • Track and report on program outcomes to inform succession planning and long-term workforce pipeline development.
  • Coordinate and facilitate all-staff meeting preparation including gathering information for presentation.
  • Collaborate with members of the all-staff resource team to ensure off-site staff meeting coordination information is finalized and communicated in a timely manner.
  • Gather and organize information regarding staff professional recognition emails
  • Participate in the development of Human Capital surveys; create and test surveys using ADP survey module.
  • Assist with the development of and produce HC metrics reports on a quarterly basis.
  • Participate in the identification and implementation of training and development programs aimed at building skills and capabilities across the UWNYC workforce.
  • Assist with the ongoing tool build, for HC Metrics, professional development, performance management process, exit interviews, etc.
  • Support temporary talent acquisition process including managing bill payment.
