About The Position

As a member of the Strategy team, supporting the Global Commercial & Marketing organization, you will drive key strategic business decisions for the highest impact priorities. As a Senior Manager, you will work closely with Director and VP of Strategy to deliver insightful and company-leading analyses of IHG, markets, and competitors required to evolve and drive execution of IHG’s global commercial & marketing strategy. The Strategy Senior Manager will use rigorous quantitative and qualitative analytical skills to construct frameworks and business models to analyze key issues facing the company and its brands and recommend answers to complex business questions that enable long-term revenue and profit growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Strategy, Finance or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
  • Likely to be 3 plus years of progressive work experience in strategy, consultancy, or 6-8 years corporate level experience with exposure to a broad range of strategy issues.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking through a proven ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative data, to draw insights/conclusions about business issues and opportunities
  • Strong strategic framing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required to build relationships across business units for collaboration, data requests, and joint analysis
  • Able to gain credibility with executives and senior managers in the organization
  • Strong demonstration of ownership over projects; able to plan time/priorities and proactively identify and action on next steps, with a high degree of accountability and personal responsibility
  • Proven ability to drive results and decisions
  • Our hybrid work structure is an expectation of three (3) days a week in office. This expectation may be adjusted to evolve with the changing needs of the business.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA preferred.
  • Previous travel industry experience is desirable but not required.
  • Previous leisure/hospitality, franchise industry, or brand strategy experience is desirable but not required

Responsibilities

  • Deliver the highest value customer growth initiatives by providing insights-driven problem solving and driving key deliverables
  • Lead strategy projects or assist/lead on multiple workstreams within complex, larger projects all the way from project structuring to strategic framing and recommendations to developing implementation roadmaps
  • Build key relationships with colleagues across a multi-region, multi-function matrix organization, collaborating on analysis and strategic initiatives
  • Develop presentations and facilitate discussions to support strategy discussions at Leadership Committee, project steering committees, and occasionally Board of Directors meetings
  • Leverage current information sources of company performance, competitor intelligence, and industry trends, to deliver new insights for senior management
  • Provide strategic thought partnership for key stakeholders, identifying and capturing key challenges and opportunities across the functions of Global Commercial & Marketing
