The Sr. Manager, UCC Business Development & Strategy drives the evaluation process to identify partnership opportunities that are aligned with UCC’s near-to-long-term Growth drivers, and pipeline development. Once targets are identified, the Sr. Manager assists or leads the development of the business case and supports due diligence process for active inorganic targets. The Sr. Manager will also support driving the annual strategic planning process, collaborating with platforms, finance and functional LT members. This role is pivotal in shaping our UCC global strategy and driving inorganic efforts to generate sustainable high single digit growth for the BU.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field required; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in medical devices in marketing, strategy, business development or product development.
  • High proficiency in building market models, forecasting and scenario planning required.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams and/or influencing decisions without direct ownership required.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, matrixed, and global environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in UCC platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Establish evaluation criteria and lead the business development evaluation process.
  • Collaborate with platforms and innovation teams to assess, communicate decisions, and track inbound opportunities.
  • Develop business cases and financial models to support investment decisions.
  • Prepare pitch decks on identified partnering targets.
  • During active due diligence phase, lead assigned due diligence workstreams on larger opportunities, or as appropriate, lead the entire acquisition process for smaller opportunities.
  • Assist in driving Annual Strategic Review process including develop planning timelines, align functional deliverables, prepare executive-level presentation materials, and facilitate strategic sessions with SLTs.
  • Conduct market and competitive analysis to inform and guide strategic directions.
  • Stay ahead of market trends and emerging technologies to inform future strategy.
