About The Position

Are you passionate about driving sustainability and making a significant impact? As a Sr. Manager, Strategic Initiatives at Walmart, you’ll lead key initiatives in Private Brands, Global Sourcing, and Merchandising to develop and embed environmentally sustainable packaging strategies. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with executive leaders and leverage Walmart’s resources to create meaningful change. What you'll do... Develop and implement sustainability strategies that align with Walmart's business objectives and values. Collaborate with merchants and suppliers to integrate sustainable practices into the supply chain. Identify and assess sustainability risks and opportunities in packaging and develop strategies to address them. Partner with cross-functional teams to embed sustainable packaging into business processes across merchandising, sourcing, supply chain, and finance. Develop business cases for sustainable packaging and alternatives, including extended producer responsibility and future regulatory changes. Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) in packaging to measure the success of sustainability initiatives, including Project Gigaton. What You’ll Bring Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and regulatory changes related to sustainability and plastics and packaging. Experience in developing and implementing sustainability strategies within a large matrixed and relationship-based organization. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Social Science, Communications, or related field and 4 years’ experience managing cross-functional projects for governmental or non-governmental organizations, consulting firms, or corporations OR 7 years’ experience managing cross-functional projects for governmental or non-governmental organizations, consulting firms, or corporations.
  • 4 years’ experience managing project teams in a matrix environment.
