About the Role Come join the Salesforce Solution Engineering leadership org, focused specifically on Slack within the SMB segment — the engine of innovation and the fastest-growing part of the Salesforce ecosystem. In this role, you will lead a team of Slack Solution Engineers who act as strategic partners to growing businesses, helping them unlock the power of Slack to transform the way they work, communicate, and collaborate. The SMB SE organization is built on a "Founder Mentality." We hire leaders who are comfortable navigating shifting priorities with grace and who view complex business challenges as opportunities to be creative and innovative. Your Mission as a Slack SE Leader This is a frontline leadership role where you will work alongside your team and directly with customers to deliver impactful outcomes. You will: Lead Transformation Efforts: Guide SMB customers through their digital transformation journeys, offering strategic counsel on Slack adoption and achieving long-term success Inspire "Collective Genius": Build and nurture a diverse team of Slack Solution Engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, quality, and continuous learning Scale Go-to-Market Impact: Partner with Sales leadership to develop bespoke plays and reusable assets, codifying wins into playbooks that drive Slack's growth in the SMB segment Shape Solutions: Ensure your team designs and demonstrates impactful Slack solutions that resonate with SMB needs, from executive-level conversations to deep technical Proof-of-Concept delivery Champion Product Innovation: Serve as the "Voice of the Field" to Slack Product and R&D, distinguishing unique edge cases from systemic needs to influence the Slack roadmap

Requirements

  • Collaborative platform or enterprise SaaS sales/SE experience, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked with Slack or adjacent Salesforce core products (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud). An understanding of how Slack attaches to and amplifies core CRM value — driving ACV growth through cross-sell and attach motions — is essential.
  • Familiarity with greenfield sales strategies and net-new customer acquisition is a strong plus.
  • A genuine passion for the SMB segment and the ability to thrive in its pace — high velocity, fast deal cycles, rapid implementation, and a "test and learn" culture. Paired with demonstrated leadership experience (whether through direct management, team lead roles, or leading through influence and cross-functional collaboration), this person knows how to move fast, bring people along, and build something meaningful in a scrappy, high-growth environment.
  • 3–10+ years of leadership experience with a track record of building high-performing teams
  • Founder Mentality: You treat the business as your own, lead with empathy, and model calm focus even during complex projects
  • Excel at working cross-functionally — partnering with Sales, Enablement, Product, and the broader ecosystem
  • Strong technical background with 5+ years in Solution Engineering, Consulting, or similar roles
  • Deep understanding of the Slack platform — from workflows and automation to Slack AI and integrations — with the ability to coach your team on technical details
  • Proficiency in enterprise collaboration, IT architecture, and business process integration
  • You move beyond features to focus on business transformation and measurable ROI
  • Experience leading collaborative customer workshops that reimagine business processes
  • Data fluency with adoption metrics, consumption ACV, and ROI analysis
  • Hands-on leadership style with willingness to be in the trenches alongside your team

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Sales leadership to communicate and deliver Slack's transformational value proposition for SMB customers
  • Lead the team in driving Slack adoption, activation, and expansion in key accounts
  • Maintain excellence standards where every SE continuously develops their Slack platform knowledge, certifications, and AI/workflow expertise
  • Partner with SI partners and internal enablement to support AEs and SEs across the SMB organization
  • Collect "Voice of Customer" insights systematically to ensure the Slack roadmap reflects SMB field reality
  • Attract, develop, and retain top-tier SE talent, creating a culture of performance, innovation, and career growth
