Role summary: As a Senior Manager, Software Engineering, you will lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable software solutions aligned with business objectives. You will drive innovation by prioritizing product enhancements and ensuring high-quality, maintainable code while managing project execution and continuous integration processes. About the team: The team specializes in designing, developing, and managing integrations within the Workday platform and connected systems. Collaborating across functions, members deliver scalable, secure, and efficient solutions by following best practices in architecture, coding standards, and continuous integration/deployment. Emphasizing clear communication and agile methodologies, the team addresses evolving business needs. Engineers contribute to building and maintaining Workday business processes, reports, and integrations, ensuring high-quality outcomes. Leveraging expertise in Workday tools, APIs, and web services, the team drives innovation and operational excellence aligned with organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in software engineering leadership, including guiding teams through the Software Development Life Cycle and agile methodologies.
  • Proven expertise in solution design, software architecture, and scalable distributed systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Java and JavaScript programming languages, with knowledge of coding standards and best practices.
  • Ability to analyze and prioritize complex business and technical requirements, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Skilled in risk analysis, defect management, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.
  • Demonstrated capability in project management, mentoring, and developing high-performing technical teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • 7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • 2 years’ supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead software engineering teams to design, develop, and deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Analyze and prioritize requirements, guiding the creation of user stories and minimum viable products to meet core needs.
  • Oversee solution architecture, ensuring adherence to design patterns, disaster recovery, and non-functional requirements.
  • Drive coding standards, code quality, and implementation of automation in CI/CD pipelines.
  • Manage defect resolution through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align technical solutions with strategic goals and operational priorities.
  • Mentor and develop engineering talent, fostering a high-performance team environment.

  • The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
