Introduction to Team Our Technology Team partners with teams across Expedia Group to create innovative products, services, and tools to deliver high-quality experiences for travelers, partners, and our employees. A singular technology platform powered by data and machine learning provides secure, differentiated, and personalized experiences that drive loyalty and traveler satisfaction. This Senior Engineering Manager will lead a team as part of the Vacation Rental Differentiators organization within our Product & Technology division. The team is responsible for delivering differentiated product features for the vacation rental traveler across the shopping journey within the combined Expedia Group tech stack across all platforms for the Vrbo and Expedia brands. In this role, you will be the engineering manager which is responsible for your team's product delivery, which includes working with UX designers and Product Managers, while also developing the engineers in their performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of people management experience.
• Demonstrated experience owning and delivering technical solutions at the service, multi-service, or domain level.
• Proven technical aptitude in system and API design, with experience leading engineering teams.
• Familiarity with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying AI/ML concepts to real world products.

• Strong track record driving architectural decisions and technical strategies across multiple teams or domains.

• Prior experience as a Senior Engineer in Full Stack Development with a similar tech stack - React & Java/Kotlin or Mobile Native experience in Swift, SwiftUI (iOS) & Kotlin, Jetpack Compose (Android).
• Led/managed cross‑functional engineering teams to deliver customer‑facing product features across multiple platforms, ensuring reliability, quality, and seamless user experience.

• Drive architecture, system design (including low-level design), API design, and data modeling efforts to support product and platform evolution.
• Foster a culture of operational excellence, ensuring reliable and secure delivery and maintenance of services and applications.
• Champion the integration and safe operation of AI/ML-enabled solutions that improve business and customer outcomes.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, UX, and other engineering teams to align technical delivery with organizational goals.
• Mentor engineers, promote technical growth, and establish best practices to enable team success and technical innovation.
