About The Position

The Senior Manager Training and Development is responsible for the full leadership and coordination of the Sales Training Programs for Beef, Pork & CRVA. This role manages sales training development, oversees onboarding and training activities, and partners closely with Recruiting, Procurement, Plant Teams, and Sales Leadership to ensure consistent and high-quality training experience. This position plays a key role in shaping the next generation of sales talent within the organization.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of relevant experience.
  • Experience: 5+ years of related work experience with capability and passion for sales and training.
  • Computer Skills: Understanding of current Tyson Beef and Pork ordering and inventory system preferred; Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills required, ability to communicate with team members at all levels of the organization, strong executive presence, must be able to lead through influence and gain buy-in from others, ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple way
  • Special Skills: High sense of urgency and self-starter who is resourceful and capable of evaluating business situations and rapidly establishing action plans. Proven ability/experience in conceptualizing, defining.

Responsibilities

  • Sales Trainee Program Leadership & Execution Serve as the primary supervisor, mentor, and day-to-day contact for all sales trainees.
  • Conduct regular touch-base meetings and daily check-ins to ensure comprehension of calls, stand-ups, and training sessions.
  • Provide guidance on professional etiquette, internal communication, and business practices.
  • Coach trainees on managing bids, customer interactions, relationship-building, and daily organization.
  • Support trainees during initial days of customer-facing duties, particularly during vacation coverage periods.
  • Provide weekly trainee progress updates to VP-level leadership.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with plant partners and internal departments involved in training rotations.
  • Manage job postings and serve as the primary point of contact with Recruiting for trainee positions, participate in interviews and candidate selection.
  • Coordinate all program logistics: trainee start dates and onboarding timelines, schedule meet-and-greet calls with procurement buyers, plant contacts, and relevant teams.
  • Sales Training Program Execution Plan and coordinate all Sales Training classes, including scheduling presenters, preparing agendas, and managing training rooms.
  • Deliver approximately 80% of classroom training content.
  • Organize kick-off events, including venue selection, menu planning, and vendor coordination.
  • Work internally to coordinate product displays and leadership participation in training sessions.
  • Training Support & Logistics Ensure laptops, systems access, and required materials are prepared for each trainee.
  • Set up credit cards, travel accommodations, and departmental visits.
  • Oversee preparation of training books, resources, and updated materials.
  • Manage evaluation distribution, collection, and results summaries.
  • Provide system training and orient trainees to tools and internal processes.
  • Training Content & Material Development Lead the creation, refinement, and execution of sales training materials.
  • Collaborate with sales leaders to ensure materials are accurate, updated, and aligned with program needs.
