About The Position

Senior Managers on the Research and Development (R&D) Tax Credit team work across a wide range of clients and industries. This role requires strong technical knowledge and project management skills to lead R&D Tax Credit and Sec. 174/Sec. 174A engagements of varying levels of complexity. Senior Managers serve as trusted business advisors to our clients and internal teams. They also help drive practice growth through business development, training and mentoring junior team members, engagement economics, and thought leadership. Senior Managers can expect to:

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience managing R&D Tax Credit and Sec. 174/Sec. 174A analyses and training team members.
  • Bachelor’s and/or relevant advanced degree (MAcc, MST, JD).
  • Accounting, Engineering, or related degree
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Advanced credential allowing for IRS client representation (i.e. CPA, JD).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, or similar software is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of accounting methods is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day responsibilities on R&D Tax Credit and Sec. 174/Sec. 174A engagements, including leading technical interviews with subject matter experts, reviewing calculations, and reviewing deliverables.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to team members.
  • Take ownership of engagement economics, including budgeting, billing, and realization, while ensuring timely and quality delivery across all phases of an engagement.
  • Participate in business development activities, including preparing proposals for both prospective and current clients.
  • Communicate with clients, manage multiple project deadlines, and remain current on legislative changes.
  • Receive formal training, on the job training, and the opportunity to pursue additional training through internal and external resources.
