About The Position

Position Responsibilities includes (not limited to the list below): Oversee and manage the Corrective and Preventive Action system for his/her respective factory.  This applies to corrections to product designs, supplier issues and manufacturing processes, corrections to the Quality Management System, and corrections relating to the elimination of waste streams at his/her site Be the chief advocate for the Customer, ensuring that we have a sense of urgency and are focused on customer satisfaction in all areas  Track and communicate the current state of the operations and manages the site’s achievement of stated quality goals  Drive a culture of zero defects and continuous improvement, assuring quality by virtue of system adherence in our internal operations and suppliers if applicable  Communicate internally regarding current quality problems such as: problem description, status, root cause analysis, and resolution timetable  Take an active and visible leadership role in the development and launch of any and all new products introduced   Manage and report on the speedy resolution of any and all current quality issues  Ensure that product design changes have been fully verified and validated prior to their implementation  Work with Supplier Quality and Reliability, ensures that supplier changes are fully qualified before implementation  Work with Manufacturing Engineering, ensures that all manufacturing process changes are qualified prior to implementation  Ensure that the Quality Policy is understood at all levels at the site and used to guide decision making at that site  Use extensive knowledge and experience to advise, council and train site personnel (formally and informally) on the application of basic and advanced quality tools  Manage all aspects to ensure smooth operation of the Quality Department: work assignments, scheduling, hiring, discipline, performance management, budgets, etc. Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs. Full collaboration with other functions to generate effective and efficient solutions and improvements toward the company objectives. Nature & Scope: Ensures work is aligned with the Director’s expectations, goals, and vision.  Develops and drives processes for implementing and design strategic plans. Develops departmental plans, including business, production, operational, and/or organizational priorities in fast-changing businesses and/or regulatory environments. Receives assignments in the form of objectives where independent thought and judgment are required for determining the appropriate course of action.  Works on complex issues and projects  Provides guidance and training to managers, supervisors, and high-level professionals. Has accountability for multiple departments or areas? Level of signing authority established by company policy/guidelines.

Requirements

  • High level of knowledge in project management methods with experience in project costing to drive waste streams, solid technical background (HVAC preference), able to lead/drive reliability, ISO9001/14001, and supplier quality improvements
  • Quality/Lean training with experience leading large scale improvement projects –
  • Data analysis, mining, customer interface, and field service
  • Effective leadership skills, fostering employee development, delegation, performance management skills
  • Familiar with data analysis tools including Excel, pivot tables, databases, and statistical analysis software
  • Ability to convert data into information and effectively communicate it
  • Capable of interpreting complex data and statistical analysis and derive actionable conclusions and action plans.
  • Effective problem-solving acumen to eliminate root causes, utilizing DMAIC, Design of Experiment, 6 Sigma methods, FMEA, 8 Disciplines, lean methods, etc.
  • Capable of managing multiple inputs & directions to deliver immediate results
  • Effective internal and external communication skills, including public speaking, presentation development, meeting organization/facilitation, clear conveyance & transmission of information through written & verbal form
  • Effective collaboration and interpersonal skills, relationship management and team building skills
  • Ability to apply good judgment, strong work ethic, and integrity on the job.
  • 10 + years of manufacturing and/or quality preferably in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • 8+ years in a Management leadership role preferably in manufacturing or quality.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science or Engineering field

Nice To Haves

  • Black Belt trained (certification with proven projects is a plus)
  • Master's Degree would be an asset
