Position Summary The Aetna Special Investigations Unit (SIU) Data Analytics team is seeking a highly skilled, data‑driven individual to lead complex analytics initiatives. This role is responsible for driving analytic project delivery, shaping data strategy and translating large, complex datasets into actionable insights for business partners and leaders. The individual in this role may also function as a team lead (non‑people manager). The ideal candidate has a strong background in medical claims data, SQL and Python development, analytical methodologies, and data visualization. This role requires exceptional communication, planning, and cross-functional leadership skills. This is an individual contributor role This is a work-from-home position in the US. supporting standard east coast business hours.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years work experience
  • Healthcare background
  • 7+ years of analytics or data management experience
  • 2+ years of experience in SQL, Python
  • Solid understanding of medical claim data
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and storytelling skills
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving capabilities

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with medical claims data and healthcare analytics
  • FWA, SIU or health insurance operations experience
  • Knowledge of healthcare claims adjudication & provider information
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI)

Responsibilities

  • Development of SQL and Python analytics to support SIU metrics, reporting, and investigative insight
  • Translate large datasets into meaningful narratives that support decision-making and operational improvements.
  • Create clear, compelling data visualizations and narratives for technical and non‑technical audiences
  • Lead cross-functional project workstreams and act as the central coordinator for analytics-related deliverables across SIU and partner teams
  • Coach team members on performance measurement, KPI usage, and analytic best practices
  • Collaborate with business partners to understand requirements, impacts, and opportunities
  • Drive enhancements to data processes, system infrastructure, and reporting capabilities.
