About The Position

The Senior Manager, Procurement , leads the delivery and execution of strategic category plans and sourcing events for indirect categories of spend. This role liaises with cross-functional teams and external suppliers to drive effective and transparent sourcing processes and develop strategies that support our business partner's needs and objectives. This role delivers value through strategic supplier partnership, innovation, and risk mitigation, driving cost efficiency, quality, speed-to-market, and resilience. Leveraging data-driven insights and proactive category strategies, the position optimizes total cost of ownership, enhances supplier performance, and supports business growth. The Senior Manager, Procurement manages centralized supplier relationships, ensuring supplier compliance with contract obligations, service level agreements, audits, and regulatory requirements. This role serves as a senior member of the Procurement division and will serve as a mentor for category managers and procurement professionals, providing guidance, mentoring, and support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) Business, Supply Chain or related field
  • Minimum 8 years Experience working in a category management, strategic sourcing, and/or procurement role in a mid-to-large size company or consulting firm with knowledge dependent on assigned categories, such as: Operations & Commodities category (supply chain, transportation, warehouse operations, manufacturing, facilities, and materials); SaaS, IT, and Technology category
  • Minimum 3 years Managerial experience leading and mentoring team of procurement professionals
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Purchasing Platform (Zycus experience is a plus)
  • eProcurement, Contracting, and Vendor Management Platforms
  • SAP S4/Hana
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma
  • Deep understanding of end-to-end procurement lifecycle, procurement policies, practices, and regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership and team management skills in domestic and international procurement operations
  • Strong knowledge of contract/PO terms and conditions

Responsibilities

  • Develop, lead and manage the execution of large, complex sourcing events within assigned categories, leveraging data, market intelligence, and business needs
  • Partner with senior leaders and business stakeholders (and EPMO where relevant) to ensure that RFPs/competitive events and negotiations are executed with proper time for executive alignment, proper negotiation and transition/change management
  • Accountable for developing an opportunity pipeline, and subsequently delivering savings to meet established targets
  • Develop all bid related materials for RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, reverse auctions, or any other strategy utilized
  • Lead all sourcing events, driving to established milestones, providing guidance to the teams, and ensuring ethical and fair execution
  • Develop negotiation strategies and execute high-stakes negotiations without sacrificing quality or performance
  • Guide, facilitate, and lead negotiations for the full variety of agreements and contracts within category including, but not limited to: Master Service Agreements, NDA, SOWs, purchase orders, term sheets, pricing schedules, etc.
  • Ensure agreements and contracts reflect the needs of the business and mitigate business risks, and include total cost of ownership, suggested business terms and conditions to protect our interests and establish a foundation for a strong supplier relationship
  • Develop and execute change management plans to ensure the transition of suppliers, technologies and processes. Communicate effectively with internal and external teams to minimize disruption and maintain continuity
  • Manage the full contract lifecycle and guide the business throughout
  • Establish role as a key resource and trusted advisor for the category stakeholder
  • Maintain market, supply base, and market trends intelligence within the category
  • Regularly provide updates, insights, and evaluations to the stakeholder team
  • Perform spend and supplier analysis
  • Provide and drive the identification, understanding, and leverage of key cost drivers within the category
  • Proactively identify supplier risks and develop risk mitigation strategies including but not limited to business continuity plans
  • Use data and analytics to make informed decisions to access the financial implications and impact of procurement initiatives
  • Proactively manage all procurement processes, adhering to timelines established with business partners
  • Ensure adherence to all corporate procurement policies, regulatory requirements, and audit standards throughout procurement activities
  • Operationally work within a governance framework that promotes transparency, ethical practices, and risk mitigation
  • Reenforce the established standard utilization of tools and processes; drive procurement process and policy adherence
  • Effectively and efficiently use all technology tools and systems available
  • Drive utilization of preferred suppliers whenever possible
  • Provide financial transparency to the business related to purchasing commitments, as well as forecasted and delivered savings
  • Support and grow procurement programs such as Sustainability and Diversity
  • Enable and support a continuous improvement environment
  • Manage and develop key supplier relationships within the categories. Establish Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) practices in the areas of responsibility and drive Joint Business Planning with business critical suppliers
  • Monitor supplier performance via methods such as key metrics, KPIS, and contract compliance. Provide updates to relevant internal and external parties. Address issues as needed in conjunction with the business
  • Serve as a leader on the Procurement team assisting in the mentorship and development of a small team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
  • Identify development needs and create a plan to enhance skills and performance, encouraging continuous learning and professional growth
  • Align team with the broader company goals, ensuring efforts contribute to the overall success of the Procurement department and the company
  • Lead through influence cross-functionally, supporting and facilitating the maturation of Procurement and demonstrating the value and best practices value to the stakeholders
