About The Position

Baylor Genetics (BG) is currently expanding its market access and payer account engagement capabilities. BG has extensive experience in the hospital setting and is growing rapidly in the outpatient setting and with new test offerings. BG seeks to achieve coverage and reimbursement for genetic testing with commercial health plans and government payers in order to provide patients and clinicians with important clinical insights. To that end, we are hiring a Senior Manager, Pricing & Contracting to partner with the Channel Directors in Managed Care and Medicaid to expand its in-network contracts with payers and provide key pricing analytics. BG requires full time senior manager to analyze proposed contract terms with payers to understand the financial terms and contract commitments affecting BG

Requirements

Bachelor's degree required
5+ years of relevant business experience, or advanced degree, or professional certifications.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; especially Excel.
Experience with data analytics in the life sciences industry
Experience with pricing analytics and insights for contracting purposes
Experience with reporting pricing insights to senior management
Knowledge of the payer payment system in the U.S.
Ability to manage projects and work effectively in a cross-functional environment as an individual contributor
Intellectual curiosity and problem-solving skills
Ability to deliver results according to specified deadlines and project plans

Nice To Haves

Experience with pricing as it relates to CPT coding in the laboratory testing environment is preferred
Experience with relevant 3rd party data resources and fee schedules for the U.S. payers (CMS, Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial Health Plans).
Experience with genomics and genetics is preferred

Responsibilities

Support the Vice President, Market Access and the Channel Directors with all aspects of contract development, pricing models, bid processes, health system management, and business strategies.
Model financial risks and opportunities with major pricing proposals.
Work cross-functionally to maintain accurate customer contracts and pricing, and incorporate into financial models
Prepare and present pricing reports to senior management; market access function, and cross-functional partners
Collaborates with the Access Strategy team to perform pricing analyses on ad-hoc projects and evaluate new product opportunities
Develop database with cross-functional partners and manage pricing software and tools
Evaluate the impact of pricing changes on sales and margins
Identify and recommend areas for improvements with the contracting processes to meet changing needs of the business.
Identify appropriate data sources for retrieving information on pricing and reimbursement about payer customers and genetic tests
Use descriptive and advanced analytics methods to generate actionable insights from large quantities of third party and/or enterprise data
Track reimbursement rates/fee schedules and associated CPT codes for payers and for BG test codes
Consistently build effective relationships with team members, clients, and cross-functional partners; ability to influence directly and indirectly.
Results orientated and strong initiative; convey a sense of urgency and drives issues to closure.
