The Senior Manager, Physical & Operational Security leads the organization’s physical security, incident response, investigations, asset protection, and operational risk programs for US West. This role oversees a multidisciplinary security team, drives strategic initiatives, ensures compliance with internal and external standards, and protects people, facilities, assets, and operations across all existing and emerging US West locations. Current facilities are located in: Fremont, CA Tracy, CA Seattle, WA Carson City, NV

Requirements

  • 8–12+ years of experience in physical security, corporate security, law enforcement, military, or related fields.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams and complex security operations.
  • Strong knowledge of physical security systems, incident response, investigations, and risk management.
  • Experience with crisis management, business continuity, and emergency response.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, TAPA, SOC 2, OSHA, DHS, NIST).
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to work in high‑pressure environments and lead during crises.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in security management, criminal justice, emergency management, or related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CSMP, CPP, PSP, CISSP, CFE, or similar.
  • Experience in global operations or multi‑site environments.
  • Background in intelligence analysis, counter‑terrorism, or advanced investigations.
  • Experience in supply chain security and / or manufacturing environment desirable.
  • A successful candidate will be Strategic, able to design long‑term security programs.
  • Operationally strong, capable of leading day‑to‑day security functions.
  • Calm under pressure, especially during incidents or crises.
  • People‑focused, with a track record of developing high‑performing teams.
  • Data‑driven, using metrics and intelligence to guide decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee physical security programs across all facilities, including access control, surveillance, perimeter protection, and guard force operations.
  • Lead asset management and asset protection strategies to reduce loss, theft, and misuse of company property.
  • Conduct and oversee penetration testing, security risk analysis (SRA) and facility vulnerability assessments (FVA).
  • Develop and maintain facility counter‑terrorism measures, threat mitigation plans, and protective design standards.
  • Direct the response to security incidents, ensuring timely escalation, documentation, and resolution.
  • Lead internal investigations involving theft, misconduct, workplace violence, fraud, or policy violations.
  • Coordinate with law enforcement, emergency services, and external partners as required.
  • Manage the US West intelligence program, including threat monitoring, geopolitical analysis, and risk forecasting.
  • Oversee travel security operations for US West, including traveller tracking, pre‑trip advisories, and emergency response protocols.
  • Maintain crisis management frameworks and serve as a key leader during critical events.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies.
  • Lead security audits, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain documentation, reporting, and metrics for executive leadership and audit committees.
  • Develop and deliver security training programs for employees, leadership, and specialized teams.
  • Oversee drills, tabletop exercises, and readiness assessments for crisis response and emergency procedures.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a diverse team of security professionals across multiple disciplines.
  • Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and build a high‑performance culture.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, contract security teams, and external consultants.
