Responsibilities Senior Manager in the Patient Financial Service will oversee and manage the large and essential Patient Financial Service division of our large network of hospitals and medical groups. This role will provide critical managerial leadership to ensure consistency and adherence to standardized procedures across multiple facilities' business offices. This role also involves building and hiring professional team members and managing the team to execute the strategies and processes the Senior Manager will design and direct.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required (effective 4/1/14 for all new hires)
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • Three to five years' experience in health care business office preferred.
  • Must be able to demonstrate understanding of and ability to interpret third party payer principles and terms and COBRA laws.
  • Strong organizational skills required for effective communication with patients, physicians, public, staff and administrations.
  • Must be able to work in fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Effective written and verbal communication as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer Services experience required.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems, equipment and processes commonly performed within the Business Office area.
  • Knowledge of equipment and machines used in the Business Office.
  • Well versed in billing and collection regulations and requirements by payer.
  • Knowledge of Accounts Receivable, Medicare, Medical, HMO/PPO, Commercial and W/C Billing & Collections.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
