About The Position

The National Women’s Law Center (NWLC) seeks a strategic and versatile Senior Manager, Partnership Development to serve as a frontline fundraiser and cross-functional partner across NWLC’s growing development efforts. This role will manage a $2M+ portfolio of donors that are heavily weighted on strategic partnerships, law firm relationships, and engagement with and from our Leadership Advisory Committee (LAC). The Senior Manager plays a central role in strengthening NWLC’s relationships across the legal community, including law firms and in-house counsel, and supports NWLC’s major engagement efforts, including the annual Gala. The ideal candidate has experience working in business development, fundraising, sales or a related field, and will work closely with senior leadership, program staff, and colleagues in Development, Communications, and Finance to ensure coordination and alignment across all fundraising efforts. This is a full-time exempt position of 37.5 hours per week. Requirements

  • At minimum 5 years of fundraising experience at a nonprofit or legal services organization.
  • Excellent relationship management, communication, and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and levels of leadership, and to synthesize complex legal or organizational needs into clear partnership opportunities.
  • Experience supporting external engagement and fundraising-related activities
  • Sound judgment and discretion when managing sensitive or confidential information.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with NWLC’s issue areas, such as reproductive rights, workplace justice, and economic security.
  • Experience supporting external engagement and fundraising-related activities within a legal context.
  • Experience engaging legal volunteers, board committees, or advisory councils.
  • Comfort using donor databases (e.g., Raiser’s Edge) or CRM systems.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a frontline fundraiser, managing a portfolio of major donors, corporate partners, law firms and prospects, overseeing all stages of moves management from prospect identification and cultivation to solicitation and stewardship including donor communications, 1:1 meetings, and engagement of NWLC leadership as appropriate.
  • Serve as the primary staff liaison to NWLC’s Leadership Advisory Committee (LAC), coordinating communications, meeting planning, and strategic engagement.
  • Oversee and grow a portfolio of $2M+ in revenue generated through law firms and LAC engagement.
  • Working with key Programs colleagues, manage law firm relationships and develop strategies for deeper engagement across fundraising, advocacy, and legal collaboration.
  • Plan and execute quarterly LAC meetings in partnership with senior staff and LAC leadership.
  • Identify opportunities for LAC members to support NWLC’s pro bono legal and fundraising goals through donor engagement or visibility initiatives.
  • Manage volunteer recognition efforts internally and externally, including impact reporting.
  • Represent NWLC in donor- and partner-facing settings to grow brand, networks, and influence, and contribute to special projects as needed.
  • Coordinate with Development, Communications, and Program teams to align messaging and strategies for engaging donor audience, specifically those in the legal field.
  • Stay on top of fundraising and philanthropy trends to foster a culture of innovation and creativity.
  • Participate in institutional initiatives that advance NWLC’s legal engagement, development, and advocacy priorities.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned.
