About The Position

Reporting to the VP of Human Resources & Payroll, the Senior Manager of Payroll will oversee the operations of the organization's field and corporate payroll functions. We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager to support 7,000+ workers in approximately 37 states. The ideal candidate is hard-working, organized, enjoys problem-solving, new challenges, and performs well in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Strong preference for a bachelor's degree, FPC or CPP designation preferred, and at least 8 years of payroll experience; including prior management experience and hospitality industry experience.
  • Has proven experience successfully leading the payroll function for a similar-sized organization.
  • Has lead and directed the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination.
  • Prior experience processing payroll in Ceridian Dayforce is strongly preferred.
  • Experience delegating and then managing payroll supervisors or a team of experienced subordinate payroll processors.
  • Must have experience contributing to the strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the department or function in collaboration with senior management.
  • Experienced at establishing departmental policies, practices, and procedures (SOPs) that are measurable and significantly improve the Payroll function’s accuracy and efficiency.
  • Understands the importance of the “employee experience” and customer service skills for interactions with employees and field/operations managers
  • Great communication skills with the ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • To perform the duties of this job, an individual must be able to read, write, understand and communicate effectively using the English Language.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time (3-4 hours at a time). The employee is frequently required to use hands for feeling objects, tools, or controls. Must be able to talk and hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required to this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is regularly required to enter information into a computer.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees activities of a team of 6+ payroll specialists and analysts that input payroll data and prepare payroll checks for 150+ hotel properties.
  • Ensures that personnel changes and applicable tax law changes are captured, that overtime or bonus payments are accurately distributed, and that timesheets are submitted and retained appropriately.
  • Ensures compliance with payroll laws and regulations at the state, federal, international level. Serves as the Company's payroll liaison for external requests as well as internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with Accounting and HR to create payroll reports and forecasts.
  • Trains and develops the payroll team to follow and administer payroll processes within the Company’s payroll/HRIS system.
  • Assists with the onboarding process for new hires including the development of applicable materials and policies.
