The goal of a Senior Manager of FP&A at Wisk is to ensure that Wisk achieves its strategic financial objectives. These include preparing and presenting detailed financial reports, variance analysis, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management, offering key insights into Wisk’s performance, opportunities, and risks. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams, such as engineering and programs, to manage program costs, streamline financial operations, and drive the overall achievement of Wisk's operational and financial goals. This is a hybrid work opportunity. At Wisk, this means working onsite at our Mountain View, CA office 3 days per week with flexibility for the remainder of the days. What you will do: As part of the Finance organization you will act as a Senior Manager of FP&A for Wisk’s novel type of aircraft development targeting the autonomous UAM market. You will lead an FP&A team.

  • Forecasting, Budgeting, and Financial Planning Lead the Company-Wide Planning Cycles: Manage the annual operating plan (budget), quarterly re-forecasts, and 5-year long-range business planning (LRBP).
  • Driver-Based Modeling: Develop and maintain financial models (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow) that accurately reflect the complex R&D, manufacturing, and regulatory milestones unique to the electric aircraft industry.
  • Variance Analysis: Conduct deep-dive analysis on actual results versus budget/forecast, identifying root causes, risks, and opportunities, and presenting actionable insights to executive leadership.
  • Cross-Functional Integration & Business Partnership R&D and CAPEX Integration: Partner closely with the Engineering and Operations teams to forecast and track spending for vehicle development, prototyping, and capital expenditures (e.g., tooling, facilities, flight testing).
  • Business Partnering: Serve as the financial liaison for key departments (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing), translating operational metrics (e.g., production capacity, lead times, cost per flight hour) into financial terms and vice versa.
  • Financial Systems and Process Improvement Adaptive Planning Expertise: Act as the System Administrator/Lead for the financial planning system (Adaptive Planning/Workday Adaptive Planning), ensuring data integrity, model structure, and optimal functionality.
  • ERP Implementation Leadership: Be the Finance Lead for the upcoming Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP implementation), responsible for defining financial requirements, designing workflows, coordinating data migration, and testing finance modules.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and execute initiatives to streamline, automate, and scale financial processes (e.g., reporting, data collection, reconciliation) to improve efficiency and accuracy, moving away from reliance on manual spreadsheets.
  • Reporting Automation: Design and implement automated, self-service dashboards and KPIs for executive management and department heads.
  • Implement EVM: Develop and implement Earned Value Management (EVM) to support program and financial reporting of the program’s progress.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), with 3+ years in a management or leadership role.
  • Experience in Aerospace or high-tech R&D industries is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Adaptive Planning (or similar CPM/EPM tools like Anaplan, OneStream) is required.
  • Demonstrated experience participating in or leading the Finance-side of an ERP implementation (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
  • Advanced financial modeling and data analysis skills using Excel.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial audiences (e.g., engineers, executives).
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • MBA or CPA/CFA certification is a plus.
