About The Position

Opportunity 180 is an organization dedicated to ensuring every child in Nevada graduates high school and is college and career-ready. They are in Year 4 of a 10-year goal to provide 100,000 more students with access to high-quality education, investing in education leaders and bringing significant funding to the market. Despite an 82% graduation rate in Nevada, a low percentage of students are on grade level in math and English Language Arts. Opportunity 180 aims to partner with the community to address these educational challenges through practice-based and policy-centered solutions, aligning efforts around a common vision. The Senior Manager of Fellowships will be crucial in ensuring the success and outcomes of the organization's fellowships, developing local talent, and contributing to the overall mission. This role serves as the Program Lead for Opportunity 180’s Design to EdRupt (ODE) Fellowship and manages the organization’s fellowship portfolio. The Senior Manager is responsible for executing high-impact leadership development experiences, cultivating a diverse pipeline of education leaders, and ensuring fellowship programs drive measurable outcomes for students and families across Nevada.

Requirements

  • Experience developing leaders and preparing individuals for expanded leadership roles.
  • Strong facilitation skills that drive adult learning, behavior change, and deep understanding.
  • Ability to execute strategy and manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects in ambiguous, resource-constrained environments.
  • Knowledge of innovative school models and the education talent landscape (Nevada/Clark County preferred).
  • Proven ability to build trust, influence others, and drive action across diverse stakeholders.
  • Track record of building alignment, navigating conflict, and fostering collaboration.
  • Strong relationship-building skills across lines of difference.
  • A continuous learning mindset with comfort in start-up, scaling, and evolving environments.
  • Passion for educational equity and improving K–12 outcomes through leadership and system-level change.
  • Proactive, self-directed approach with strong problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage up and serve as a bridge between senior leadership and team members.
  • Commitment to racial and social justice and supporting underrepresented students and communities.
  • 5+ years of experience in education, leadership development, program management, or related field.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and data analysis skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing fellowships or leadership development programs strongly preferred.
  • A current Nevada State-issued Driver’s License and current automobile insurance coverage, including automobile registration.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and co-lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the multi-year, multi-phase Design to EdRupt Fellowship with the Manager of Talent Operations
  • Oversee both phases (Explore and Cultivate), ensuring high-quality programming, coaching, and a strong fellow experience.
  • Manage recruitment and selection, and develop a diverse cohort of high-potential education leaders.
  • Provide coaching and support to fellows as they design and launch new schools or education programs.
  • Monitor outcomes and continuously refine program design to maximize impact.
  • Execute leadership development initiatives that prioritize underrepresented school and program leaders.
  • Develop and manage a clear, responsive data and evaluation strategy across all fellowships to ensure measurable impact for students and families.
  • Collaborate with the program team to audit existing fellowships and recommend improvements or changes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with school leaders, teachers, district leadership, and nonprofit partners across Nevada.
  • Manage external partners delivering educator development (instructional, operational, coaching, and leadership supports).
  • Oversee communication with fellows and partners; monitor performance and ensure alignment to outcomes.
  • Identify and recommend new investment opportunities that strengthen educator leadership and development pathways.
  • Provide feedback and input on contractors using equity-centered management practices that balance accountability and development.
  • Foster strong relationships with partners to ensure high-quality support for fellows.
  • Lead or assist in feedback cycles and performance management for contractors.
  • Collaborate with internal team members to maintain accurate records, contracts, and reporting systems (e.g., Airtable, Google Workspace, Box).
  • Contribute to the broader educator talent strategy and cross-functional alignment.
  • Support a team culture rooted in organizational values and ownership of the work that drive outcomes and foster a sense of collaboration and partnership.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
