About The Position

The Senior Accounting Manager will lead day-to-day accounting operations, manage a small team, and serve as the in-house NetSuite expert responsible for optimizing workflows, reporting, and system integrity. This role is ideal for someone who is both operationally strong and systems-savvy, with a deep understanding of US GAAP and experience in high-growth or technology-driven environments.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Expert-level NetSuite experience — administration, workflow design, reporting, and optimization.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP.
  • Experience in fintech, SaaS, lending, or other technology-driven environments preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA (active or inactive) — strongly preferred and highly valued.
  • Experience in a high-growth or PE-backed environment.
  • Prior experience improving accounting systems and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements prepared by the accounting team.
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and documentation.
  • Oversee AP, AR, revenue recognition, accruals, and general ledger integrity.
  • Serve as the primary NetSuite administrator and subject matter expert, ensuring system accuracy and scalability.
  • Build, optimize, and maintain workflows, approvals, roles, permissions, and automations.
  • Partner with FP&A, operations, and engineering to integrate NetSuite with other systems.
  • Develop custom reports, dashboards, and saved searches to support business insights.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of two accountants.
  • Review work, set priorities, and ensure high-quality output.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
  • Prepare and review GAAP-compliant financial statements.
  • Support external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and industry standards.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and automate manual workflows.
  • Lead or support special projects, including system enhancements, new product launches, and process redesigns.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the accounting function.
