About The Position

What you'll do... Position: Senior Manager, Marketplace Strategic Initiatives Job Location: 850 Cherry Avenue, San Bruno, CA 94066 Duties: Present to and influence team members, customers, and clients, conveying complex information clearly and accurately and addressing ambiguity in a constructive manner; assemble and prepare reports, materials, and storylines that have a structure and logical flow and are based on relevant, fact-based information; seek and provide constructive feedback, anticipate needs/questions, and respond appropriately. Build, maintain, and enhance internal and external partnerships; identify and address additional partner needs and educate them on value creation; communicate with other individuals or teams to solve shared problems; identify how changes in business strategy impact talent and recruiting strategies; and consult regularly with leaders of business unit(s) to advise on strategic decisions. Provide recommendations to business stakeholders to solve business issues; develop business cases for projects with a projected return on investment or cost savings; demonstrate functional knowledge of the business unit/organization being supported; translate business requirements into projects, activities, and tasks and align to the overall business strategy; recommend new processes and ways of working; partner with internal and external stakeholders to identify and assess strategy choices; provide advice and support to improve business and financial understanding and awareness within the business; monitor, analyze, and translate data to provide information and evidence to support business strategies and requirements; explain financial management reports; analyze the varying approaches to expense and budget management. Leverage data analysis tools; develop and test hypotheses; use data to influence work; build and present insights; identify, implement, and drive technology change within scope of work; use visualization tools to represent data and construct stories to influence decisions; use customer analytics for forecasting purposes; maintain and organize all customer analytics portfolio-related data; interpret customer analytics results and present findings to management; participate in the deployment of web-based surveys used to collect customer data; create business analysis reports from customer analytics data extracts; maintain and organize all business portfolio-related data; document performance criteria used for evaluating business trends and activities; research business-related data and generate and interpret basic analytics; assist in preparing charts, graphs, tables, and other tools to reflect business performance. Prepare annual baseline plan budgets, broken down by time period, task, and cost account; use schedules to prepare cash flow forecasts for projects based on completion status of different project milestones; create reports on the progress of project schedules, costs, and scopes; compare present status to baselines and forecast future trends using earned value analyses; use statistical methods to develop project cost and time estimate ranges quantified by risk probabilities and confidence levels; track risks and change risk items over the course of projects according to the risk management plans. Understand financials and how product pricing can impact financials; research company history and experience with retail markets and channels; document retail activities and issues related to major trends and directions; discuss existing and planned retail approaches for assigned area of specialization; cite sources of information; explain rationales for major initiatives. Identify revenue generation opportunities and plans, make recommendations, and execute for less-complex categories; ensure delivery against business goals by identifying potential risks to the business; supports recommendations around category strategic approaches; make recommendations on best practices and process improvements. This position does not supervise employees.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or the equivalent in Business Administration, Engineering Management, or a related field and 2 years of experience in Business Management, Marketing, Omni-Channel Merchandising, or a related area; OR Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Business Administration, Engineering Management, or a related field and 4 years of experience in Business Management, Marketing, Omni-Channel Merchandising, or a related area.
  • Experience documenting project requirements in PRDs and BRDs using JIRA tickets.
  • Experience preparing visual stories and data documentations using Tableau, R, and PowerBI.
  • Experience compiling project plans to highlight budgets, timelines, and scopes of projects through MS Project.
  • Experience executing statistical analysis of data to identify key trends using Regression Analysis in R and Excel.
  • Experience with value stream mapping of end-to-end processes using Visio.
  • Experience charting visual presentations to present new projects using MS PowerPoint.
