Discover Impactful Work Join us as a Senior Manager of Manufacturing Operations at Thermo Fisher Scientific to advance manufacturing excellence in support of our mission to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. You will oversee daily operations of both upstream and downstream teams. You will be responsible for coordinate manufacturing activities, and guide teams to achieve exceptional results in safety, quality, and efficiency. Working in a regulated environment, you'll advance continuous improvement initiatives, implement lean manufacturing practices, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards while developing strategic solutions to meet business objectives. This role offers the opportunity to enhance production processes, support team development, and cultivate a culture of operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of relatable experience preferably in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or regulated manufacturing environment. Industries with similar manufacturing processes will be considered (Bulk Buffer production and downstream filling and packaging operations)
  • 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of GMP, FDA regulations, USDA regulations QSR guidelines, and ISO requirements preferred
  • Expertise in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies preferred
  • Demonstrated success in implementing operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Experience developing high performance work teams
  • Strong financial acumen including P&L understanding and demonstrated results in cost control and reduction
  • Excellent project management and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making capabilities
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and EHS standards
  • Strong focus on quality processes and taking a customer focused approach

  • Preferred Fields of Study: Engineering, Sciences, Microbiology, Biology, Business Administration, or related technical field
