The Senior Manager, Investigations, Diligence & Compliance - Specialist: Japan Desk USA position will be expected to identify new business opportunities among US-based Japanese clients, as well as U.S. clients interested in advancing their business in Japan. This will include clients in the private and public sectors. They will be centrally involved in the development of Kroll’s brand among these communities, the design and implementation of marketing initiatives, and the design of investigative and analytic products. Responsibilities will also include drafting bespoke proposals, supporting colleagues in global Kroll offices in converting opportunities, speaking at events, and drafting thought leadership which will positively reflect upon Kroll. This, in addition to the execution and management of the high-quality and high-impact investigative casework Kroll is known globally for. Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Business Development: Business development – both brand-building and direct outreach - is the primary responsibility of this role. This will include identifying and targeting new client groups and working with senior global leaders to develop a consistent and clear message for Kroll’s current Japanese client base about our ability to assist in the US. There will be an expectation that the candidate is a confident, fully bilingual speaker and can credibly present Kroll services to build a pipeline of projects, and to support our U.S. and Japanese clients. Case work in the U.S.; It is critical that the incumbent learn how to handle a broad range of primarily forensic investigation and intelligence projects. This requires dealing with the client; developing a methodology; directing and managing in-house and external resources; analysis; report reviewing/editing. All projects need to be commercially viable. Hence the ability to review and understand P/L is important. Project teams are frequently international and multi-functional, so transparency and coordinated teamwork are vital. Leadership A Senior Manager is expected to assist global leadership to build and foster a high-performing Japan Desk team in the U.S. This will include: Identifying talent – assisting to build the Japan Desk team in the U.S., including senior and junior full-time staff and senior advisors Thought leadership – articles, panel appearances, or media quotes The role requires a high level of organisational ability, excellent verbal and written communication skills, an ability to think strategically and be commercially focused, an analytical mind and an ability to build relationships.
