About The Position

The Senior Manager, Internal Communications is responsible for shaping how Transcarent communicates with its employees—ensuring our people understand not just what is happening, but why it matters. This role will develop and execute communication strategies that engage, inspire, and align employees with Transcarent's vision, values, and priorities. In a fast-moving organization navigating growth and integration, clear and compelling communication is essential. You will be the connective tissue that helps employees make sense of change, feel informed and included, and stay connected to our mission. You will partner across the organization to translate complex initiatives into clear, human messages that resonate—and you will be a trusted advisor to leaders who need to communicate with clarity and authenticity. You will lead and mentor an Internal Communications specialist. This is an opportunity to shape the internal voice of Transcarent and ensure our employees feel connected, informed, and inspired to deliver for our Members.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing communication strategies that drive employee engagement and alignment
  • Experience managing direct reports, with a track record of developing and coaching team members
  • Strong background in change management communications—helping organizations navigate transitions with clarity and empathy
  • Experience supporting executive communications, including town halls, all-hands meetings, and leadership messaging
  • Track record of translating complex information into clear, compelling narratives
  • Experience managing multiple communication channels (email, Slack, intranet, etc.)
  • Exceptional storytelling: Ability to craft messages that connect the "what" to the "why" and inspire action
  • Slack-first fluency: Deep understanding of how to communicate effectively in a Slack-first environment—knowing when to use channels vs. DMs, how to write for scanning, and how to cut through the noise
  • Strategic thinking: Connects communication initiatives to business priorities and employee experience outcomes
  • Change management expertise: Understands how to communicate through uncertainty and help employees navigate transitions
  • Strong writing and editing: Impeccable written communication skills with the ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences and channels
  • Relationship building: Proven ability to build trust and credibility with stakeholders at all levels, including executives
  • People leadership: Ability to manage, develop, and coach team members to deliver high-quality work
  • Project management: Ability to manage multiple initiatives, channels, and deadlines simultaneously
  • Judgment and discretion: Comfortable handling sensitive information and navigating complex organizational dynamics
  • Employee-centered mindset: Keeps the employee experience at the center of all communications

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute internal communication strategies and programs that engage, inspire, and align employees with Transcarent's brand, vision, priorities, and key initiatives
  • Shape and cultivate the internal voice of Transcarent, ensuring consistency in tone, messaging, and employee experience across all channels
  • Drive communication excellence in a Slack-first culture—developing best practices, channel strategies, and guidelines that cut through noise and ensure critical information reaches employees effectively
  • Distill complex subjects into clear, easy-to-understand language that resonates across teams, levels, and geographies
  • Manage internal communication channels including Slack, email, and The Pulse (company intranet), ensuring content is timely, relevant, and accessible
  • Create and maintain a communications calendar to coordinate messaging, avoid overload, and ensure strategic alignment across a distributed workforce
  • Serve as a strategic partner on change initiatives, developing communications that help employees understand the "why" behind organizational changes
  • Translate business decisions into employee-centered messages that build understanding, reduce uncertainty, and maintain trust
  • Partner with People Team and business leaders to communicate through transitions—whether systems changes, organizational updates, policy shifts, or integration milestones
  • Support internal crisis communications in partnership with People Team (e.g., severe weather, security incidents, urgent business matters)
  • Own the end-to-end process for Transcarent's monthly all-company Town Halls, ensuring an exceptional and professional experience for employees and leaders alike
  • Manage the full production cycle: agenda development, stakeholder alignment, content packaging, speaker preparation, rehearsals, and day-of execution
  • Serve as the host and emcee for Town Halls, confidently guiding the program and engaging employees live and virtually throughout the session
  • Partner directly with the CEO and executive leaders, providing counsel on messaging, content, and delivery to ensure impactful communications
  • Develop Town Hall recap resources—including recordings, summaries, and key takeaways—to ensure employees who couldn't attend live stay informed and connected
  • Coordinate cross-functional inputs (Finance, Product, People Team, Operations) to deliver a cohesive, well-paced program
  • Continuously improve the Town Hall experience based on employee feedback and engagement data
  • Build and manage strong partnerships with key internal stakeholders across the organization
  • Collaborate with People Business Partners, IT, Marketing, and business leaders to ensure coordinated, aligned messaging
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders navigating sensitive or complex communications
  • Gather feedback and insights from employees to continuously improve communication effectiveness
