The Senior Manager, Income Tax is responsible for reviewing and preparing all United States Federal and state tax returns, related schedules, and reports. Coordinates with corporate accounting for the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
  • Minimum eight years of experience in public accounting and/or a corporate tax department.
  • Minimum five years of supervisory experience, managing direct reports required.
  • Advanced knowledge of Tax Compliance software required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Visio required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, planning, analysis, and organizational skills.
  • Strong leadership, employee development, appraisal, relationship management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Capability to meet multiple deadlines and adapt to a changing environment.
  • Discretion and independent judgment in handling tasks.
  • Ability to implement process improvement changes and work effectively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in taxation or CPA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review domestic tax returns and related schedules.
  • Conduct research and coordinate with Corporate Accounting for tax provision and compliance issues.
  • Maintain tax depreciation information for acquired companies.
  • Provide compliance assistance by supporting SOX documentation and internal control provisions; coordinate with outside service providers on tax projects;review and/or prepare responses to tax notices.
  • Review and prepare quarterly and annual domestic tax provisions.
  • Coordinate and assist with Internal Revenue Service (IRS), state, and local tax audits.
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the team;train and coach staff, guiding them to reach their potential and providing constructive feedback for employee development; act as a subject matter expert to provide guidance; ensure adequate staffing and training to meet department goals and objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
