About The Position

At The Farmer’s Dog, we believe great technology should make work easier, not harder. As Senior Manager, HRIS, you will play a critical role in ensuring Workday operates as a reliable, scalable, and high-impact system as our business grows in complexity. This role strengthens senior-level, in-house Workday ownership and is designed as a true player-coach position. You will combine deep, hands-on technical expertise with people leadership, directly owning complex Workday configuration and HRIS initiatives end to end while managing and developing the HRIS group to ensure sustainable delivery and clear ownership. You will set priorities, make technical tradeoffs, and ensure the HRIS function can confidently support a growing, highly complex business. This role reports to the Director, Humans Systems & Operations.

Requirements

  • You bring 8–12+ years of progressive HRIS experience, with deep, hands-on expertise in Workday.
  • You’ve supported large, complex, non-exempt and hourly populations, including Time & Attendance, Absence, and Payroll-adjacent work.
  • You’ve led complex Workday implementations or post-production optimization across multiple modules.
  • You’re equally comfortable setting strategy and getting into the technical weeds when needed.
  • You bring strong judgment, a clear point of view, and the confidence to advise senior stakeholders.
  • You thrive in ambiguity and enjoy building structure, standards, and clarity as organizations scale.
  • You’re a natural mentor and technical leader who elevates the work and thinking of those around you.

  • Set expectations for technical quality, documentation, and accountability across the HRIS function
  • As the function matures, this role is expected to contribute to broader HR systems governance and integration decisions, building on a strong and stable Workday foundation.
