This position is responsible for providing HR support to hourly and salaried employees at our Middletown, CT facility. The hourly workforce includes both union and management represented employees, and this role requires someone who is passionate about employee and labor relations. This position is based at our Pratt & Whitney facility in Middletown, Connecticut. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience in a Human Resources role or an Advanced degree and 7+ years of experience in a Human Resources role

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with employees and leaders to provide advice and counsel to both on employee-related and organizational matters, serving as an employee advocate and as a coach to employees and leaders.
  • Partner with leadership to implement and raise awareness about HR programs which support the business goals and produce results in a complex matrix environment.
  • Support People Strategy through positive employee relations.
  • Monitor and proactively address engagement risks.
  • Drive employee engagement strategy with available data & tools including employee surveys.
  • Assist with site-wide employee engagement initiatives.
  • Partner with leadership on workforce planning activities for salary and hourly bargaining unit employee populations.
  • Support recruiting and retention strategy, efforts, and programs.
  • Support hourly onboarding program.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with union leadership to facilitate collaborative environment within which to resolve employee and business-related issues.
  • Provide Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) interpretation and guidance; support administration of the CBA including investigations, employee and supervisor inquiries, and disciplinary actions; manage grievances including negotiating resolutions; ensure and drive compliance to the CBA.
  • Conduct confidential internal investigations; recommend appropriate plan of action and resolutions.
  • Manage the FAA Drug & Alcohol Program for hourly and salary employees.
  • Drive human resource compliance and ensure standardization and consistency of application of HR and Company practices and policies.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable governmental regulations, EH&S policies, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and support special projects as assigned.
