About The Position

As the Senior Manager, Head of Strategy Development for our Financial Advisor Services (FAS) business, you will lead the design and evolution of our distribution strategies, ensuring Vanguard remains a trusted partner for advisors nationwide. This newly created role reports to the Head of Distribution Strategy & Planning and leads a team responsible for: Long-term distribution strategy planning and roadmap development Assessing the health of our distribution strategy given industry and competitive flows Connecting NPS/VOC insights to strategic health and performance metrics Evaluating the integration of human-led and digital-led distribution strategies Monitoring external trends , competitive intelligence , and advisor needs Supporting business planning and resource allocation With over $4 trillion in assets under management across our intermediary channel, Vanguard’s FAS division is already a market leader. This role is critical to ensuring we maintain and grow that position by anticipating industry shifts, aligning resources to strategic priorities, and driving innovation across advisor engagement models. Summary We’re looking for a strategic leader who combines strategic vision with execution. You’ve led strategy development in asset management, wealth, or financial advisor services environments and understand the dynamics of the external market and distribution ecosystems. You know how to translate insights into strategy, create actionable plans, and influence across product, marketing, distribution, and operations.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership in strategy development, distribution strategy, or business planning
  • Experience shaping strategies for advisor-facing distribution teams and digital engagement models
  • Demonstrated ability to connect insights (NPS/VOC, competitive intelligence) to strategic outcomes and business health
  • Deep understanding of distribution processes, advisor engagement, and digital transformation trends
  • Executive presence and change leadership capability, with a track record of influencing across product, marketing, and operations
  • A strong belief in clarity, collaboration, and building strategies that empower advisors and investors
