About The Position

To seek, secure, and steward grant funds and resources in support of District Foundation strategic priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Three (3) years of experience in educational leadership, administration, management, and/or supervisory experience, with grant development and/or research initiatives preferred.
  • Experience providing technical assistance and training to individuals and groups preferred.
  • Three (3) years of experience writing, reporting and stewarding nonprofit grant projects.
  • Similar experience working with federal, state and/or local competitive grant projects may be substituted.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of local, state and/or federal grant development procedures, regulations and current educational trends.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated skill and experience in writing and presenting information in a variety of formats to administrators, teachers, support staff, parents, business partners, and members of the community.
  • Ability to interpret state board rules and school board policy.
  • Ability to perform technical writing including proposal development.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of grant development processes and sources of grant funding opportunities.
  • Ability to train others in grant application development procedures.
  • Ability to assist with the preparation of grant applications and facilitate processing from pre-award to post-award.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use, create, manipulate, and analyze data within Excel spreadsheets and database systems for tracking the work along the lifecycle of a grant.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate group processes, engage in conflict resolution, planning, and decision-making to build consensus.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently plan, execute, and monitor completion of tasks and projects according to established timelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changes in priorities and work assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Model the routine, intentional and effective use of technology in daily work, including communications, organization and management tasks.
  • Keep the Senior Administrator, District Foundation, and other key people informed of critical issues about which they should be aware.
  • Prepare high-quality grant proposals in support of school district initiatives and needs, as assigned by the Senior Administrator, District Foundation.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of Foundation database files for all submitted grant applications, awards and reports, as well as teacher impact grant competition documents.
  • Coordinate administration of assigned grants, contracts, special projects and contributions from pre-award to post-award, and assure compliance with District Foundation policies and funder guidelines.
  • Stay informed about legal and tax issues that affect non-profit organizations.
  • Research potential grant funding sources for projects and initiatives aligned with the District Foundation priorities and district needs.
  • Enhance the District Foundation's image within the school system and the community.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with corporate giving programs, foundations, city, county, state, federal and community-based organizations for funding and collaboration opportunities.
  • Prepare and provide necessary documents to stakeholders in support of grant development processes. Documents may include contracts and other supporting documents specific to funding opportunities.
  • Coordinate the District Foundation competitive Teacher Impact Grant programs, including program design, announcement of the grant opportunity, application/review/award processes, technical support and data collection/reporting.
  • Work with the Senior Manager, Finance, in the area of teacher grant accounts.
  • Work with schools on notifications, allocations, and reimbursement for teacher grants.
  • Serve as a liaison to grantees receiving teacher grants.
  • Assist the Senior Administrator, District Foundation, with teacher grant reporting and follow- up.
  • Provide facilitative leadership and technical assistance to writing teams from schools, learning communities and departments with developing grant proposals, as assigned by the Senior Administrator, District Foundation.
  • Train applicant teachers in how to apply for Teacher Impact Grants and provide ongoing technical assistance.
  • Support data collection in grant programs and assist in preparing mid-term and final reports for funders.
  • Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to all HRMD guidelines and the district’s instructional initiatives.
  • Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to fixed assets.
  • Develop leadership in subordinates.
  • Responsible for keeping up to date on current technology being used by OCPS. With the support of the district, attend training to ensure skill level in various technologies is at the level required to perform in current position.
  • Responsible for maintaining timely and accurate information and accountable for the quality of information maintained by those they supervise.
  • Responsible for self-development and keeping up to date on current research, trends and best practices relevant to the area of responsibility.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
