About The Position

Senior Manager - Global Regulatory Affairs (New Delhi) Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Airplane Safety Engineering team is seeking a Senior Manager – Global Regulator Affairs – New Delhi to join our team. Senior Manager, Global Regulatory Affairs (New Delhi) leads a small team of locally based regulatory experts to represent in-region Boeing engineering interests on regulatory, policy, and safety issues to regulators, rulemaking bodies, and aviation safety organizations. The scope of the team’s responsibility includes but is not limited to India and the Middle East region. The team will often be called upon to manage immediate risks to Boeing delivery that involve regulatory organizations in-region. The team is also expected to lead strategic mitigation of longer-term regulatory risks to Boeing business units. The senior manager in this role must lead a successful balance between tactical business needs and steady progress towards strategic goals. The role requires ensuring strong coordination, integration, and alignment with internal Boeing teams– including but not limited to Regulatory Administration & Airworthiness, BCA Programs Engineering, BCA Customer Support, Boeing Global, Government Operations, and BCA and BGS Sales organizations. Strong candidates are experienced Boeing leaders with a solid internal Boeing network, a background in commercial product certification/validation, strong experience representing the company externally, can successfully serve as a leader to highly experienced aviation professionals, and has exposure to various aspects of aircraft manufacturer and/or operator compliance frameworks. Best-fit candidates, as a part of their development goals, may seek an advanced understanding of the company’s presence in India and the Middle East, seek exposure to multiple parts of the enterprise, are highly adaptable, and tend to thrive as part of a collaborative environment that extends to external stakeholders. Candidates currently based outside of India may be eligible to receive relocation support in the form of an International Long-Term Assignment (ex-pat) to New Delhi, India. Relocation & assignment benefits to the international location will be provided per standard long-term international assignee benefits. Training, as needed, for this role will be based in Everett, Washington.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering role
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport and travel internationally without restriction
  • Ability to flexibly work across time zones to meet job requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in a management position (equivalent to Boeing K, L, or M) with direct reports

Nice To Haves

  • Strong motivation to prioritize retaining, developing, and growing team members
  • 2+ years of experience working as senior leader (equivalent to Boeing L or M)
  • 5+ years of experience building a safety and quality culture
  • Experience in Boeing regulatory processes e.g. SMS, rulemaking, product certification & validation

Responsibilities

  • Manage managers of engineering teams performing technical activities in the area of integration of safety processes across multiple functional teams
  • Lead a small team of locally hired regulatory experts.
  • Lead multiple internal stakeholder organizations indirectly through collaboration and accountability.
  • Ensure Boeing interactions build CAA trust – help US-based teams stay accountable to CAA actions.
  • Develop and foster relationships with regulatory agencies, including leaders of the various regulator sub-organizations (Certification management, International Branch, Continued Airworthiness, Flight Standards, etc.).
  • Develop and foster relationships with international FAA offices, ICAO regional offices and regional industry associations
  • Identify regional regulatory risks most impactful to Boeing Business units.
  • Ensure Boeing mitigation plans are coordinated well internally and sensitive to regional differences.
  • Leverage strong internal Boeing network to deliver pro-active help-needed support to Boeing business units.
  • Guide Boeing presence in rulemaking forums. Ensure coordinated technical positions.
  • Serve as a focal point for regulatory & technical issue communications between regulatory agencies and business unit & enterprise engineering leadership
  • Participate in Boeing's global Regulatory Issues Management (RIM) process
  • Integrate seamlessly with Boeing enterprise SMS and compliance organizations
  • Work seamlessly in partnership with Engineering, Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Boeing Global Services, Boeing Global, Boeing Test & Evaluation, and Sales
