The Opportunity This position is an onsite opportunity in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division. We are helping people with Diabetes lead healthier, happier lives. As a Senior Manager, Financial Analysis & Planning for North America and U.S., you will be Responsible for leading the finance team in charge of total SG&A, OMC and F&D and BGM P&L at U.S. affiliate, partnering with the commercial leadership in managing the business. You will also lead the North America team in charge of consolidation of Strategic and Financial Planning processes for total ADC. This includes the Rolling Latest Best Estimate (RLBE) process, quarterly confirmation process and month end close activities. This role and the team reporting to it will provide leadership oversight, coordination and planning, in order to execute the financial planning processes and ensure timeliness, accuracy and integrity of financial information. The Senior Manager, Financial Analysis & Planning is responsible for delivering analytics and business support to enable informed decision making by the executive staff as well as presentation of performance summaries to be shared with senior leaders across the organization. The Senior Manager, FP&A is also the link to all the Global and Divisional teams within ADC functions. This is an onsite opportunity in Alameda, CA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economic
  • Minimum 8 years Finance and supervisory experience (FP&A, Cost/General Accounting and Financial Reporting)
  • Ability to plan, implement and administer financial information and control systems
  • Knowledge of the principles, processes and standards for integrated financial analysis and reporting

Nice To Haves

  • BA, CPA/CMA preferred
  • Financial Planning Experience in either a Commercial, Manufacturing or Corporate background
  • Incumbent will demonstrate problem solving and analysis within a broad framework of Abbott’s financial policies (CFMs), and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Business problems are solved through the identification of pertinent data and subsequent collection, analysis, and interpretation thereof.
  • This position requires an individual with the ability and desire to search out and evaluate business problems and opportunities, as well as the capability to direct efforts to achieve answers and results.

Responsibilities

  • Position has full responsibility for coordinating, consolidating, and developing an Annual Plan, Latest Best Estimate (RLBE) and other financial forecasts for all aspects of ADC division for north America.
  • Be the liaison between Division FP&A and various finance teams within ADC and Commercial Organization.
  • Develop and maintain a financial organization capable of meeting Division requirements.
  • Responsible for staff development, mentoring, performance management, engagement and recruiting.
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of 5 (FP&A manager, Finance supervisor and Finance Analysts)
  • Manage the month-end close process and reporting of monthly financial performance metrics.
  • Develop flexible, comprehensive tools and templates to support the consolidation and timely completion of Divisional schedules as well as develop system solutions and process improvements that meet the needs of the financial planning and/or reporting requirements.
  • Maintain an effective and efficient planning process for the division and functional areas being supported, including the coordination of a planning calendar with key dates and deliverables.
  • Proactively develop and present analytics to drive financial and operating excellence across all areas and with commercial partners.
